Miley Cyrus is 'Fine' Without Liam Hemsworth, Wants to Put an End to All Double Standards

Miley Cyrus looks fashion fierce in these brand new inside images from her Elle magazine cover shoot, on newsstands April 22.

Here’s what the 21-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag:

On being stronger than she used to be: “You know, I’m really thankful that I started on Disney. I got the most intense training. There’s times where I wish I could have just started as a new artist, but the world has kind of allowed me to do that. I feel really lucky—a lot of kid stars get all crazy or stuck in what they were, so they can’t actually become what they’re meant to be. When I went through a really intense breakup—you know, I was engaged—and when I was with him or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn’t there to carry me anymore or if I didn’t have him. And now I’m free of both of those things, and I’m fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I’m totally okay, and that’s so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn’t have a boyfriend.”

On connecting with her fans: “I have guys and girls that come out, and they’re like, ‘The only reason I’m able to admit that I’m gay is because you’ve made me feel like that’s okay.’ That is so intense, because that is a part of this generation—it wasn’t always accepted—and I feel like I am a big part of that change. Or they know that I’ve struggled with depression, and that helped them get over theirs. That gives me a big purpose—a reason to wake up in the morning that’s bigger than to put on my fucking feathers and my little outfits.”

On feminism and double standards: “I’m just about equality, period. It’s not like, I’m a woman, women should be in charge! I just want there to be equality for everybody. I still don’t think we’re there 100 percent. I mean, guy rappers grab their crotch all f*cking day and have hos around them, but no one talks about it. But if I grab my crotch and I have hot model b*tches around me, I’m degrading women? I’m a woman—I should be able to have girls around me! But I’m part of the evolution of that. I hope.”

now every single artist think that they are gay icons, want some news? they are not.

  • ugh

Miley need to shut it! Neither she nor Beyonce know a damn thing about what true feminism is. They and their pr folks are just trying to make excuses for their disgusting behavior. A woman can be sexual however we don’t need to hear about degrading sex acts in the music you so called “strong/grown women” sell to young boys and girls under ths age of 18. They are the ones listening and viewing your filthy videos and they need to understand that they will try to mimic what they see because they deem it as cool because Miley or Beyonce do it. Samething goes for all the other filthy trash that some call music today. Most of this mess is the reason STD’s is the highest amongst teenagers because they are pretty much introduced to porn in these videos. Yet you twits think this is feminism.

Also, shame on the parents who take their very youngs girls to see this mess live. They did a news report last month at one of her concerts due to the content and bad ticket sales. I was shocked to see all the children under the age of 11 there being subjected to her explicit concert and mommy’s okay with it because she wants to be the “cool” mom. I feel side for the next generation of women.

@cam: lmao you hit the nail on the head with that one

  • brenda

Stupid hoe. What evolution? Do we need to “evolutionate” like you and have your sexual behaviour? Stupid idiot daughter of btches hoe go or better run away!!!

  • James

@ugh: What a great comment. Thank you.

  • go go

Her and her peers are totally clueless, regular people arent on or in fashion or any other mags to pose naked or talk sh!t about what we think is sexy, what drugs we do, etc. HW has no grasp on the real world they only reflect what’s relevant in their fake one. They have the “luxury” of never having to mature or have to get their heads out of their butts.

I find it interesting that she can comfortably say “I feel like I am a big part of that change. Or they know that I’ve struggled with depression, and that helped them get over theirs. That gives me a big purpose” …. months after she publicly made fun of and mocked a grown woman (Sinead O’Connor) for going through the same thing.

  • stephanie

…that being said, this girl is all of what? 20 years old? she’s got money, an outlet and plenty of delusion… we say and do alot of dumb things at that age. she and the kids that worship her have plenty of growing and learning to do. it will happen eventually and when it does she’ll be shaking her damn head with the rest of us.

  • Sarah.

Oh I see, so she wants to be like those egotripping rappers. Who think they’re all that but they are so not?! I get the point she’s trying to make but she’s not saying it right. Oh my gosh, and it’s sad to think that her fans will do the things she does..

  • Jordy

This proves how delusional and idiotic she is. Rappers do get flack for degrading women. It’s something that has been an issue for years. And now Miley is degrading women as well. Just because you’re a women does not make you incapable of degrading your sex. She’s so ignorant to think she’s promoting feminism. Feminism aims to empower women. Miley puts teddy bear heads on black women and spanks them. She’s worse than rappers in my opinion.

  • Sayer

Tow dumb itches in a row, jared–she and Beyonce.

  • Diedre

She just doesn’t get it and likely never will.

The word ‘equality’ usually means fascism.
“You must all be equal with each other.” [Hitler]
Never support any political movement or government legislation that has the word ‘equal’ in it.

  • Frida

Little girl, she has no idea what feminism is.

  • Angie

Miley is doing great without Liam. Granted they made a great couple but Miley has proved that she is strong and she will prevail.

  • Gina

Hot model bitches? Did that heifer say that? lol

being a Gay Icon is a thing, you know, just like jumping on the Bi- $exual bandwagon.

i think miley tries too much. yeah she was on disney and she said she wished she had startedout as an artist. but thats how u became the household name without disn u would be unknown at first. i like how she was ohnest in her interveiw about her dealing with depression and how her fans help her get up in the morning. the part i disagree with was she said nobdy says anything whn rappers grab thr crotch but ur a lady and i think it makes her look bad. she looks glam in the allure fav is the pic above and the one where she wa sin a hoodie posing.
