Former 'DWTS' Host Samantha Harris Diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Will Undergo Double Mastectomy

Samantha Harris, a former Dancing with the Stars host, has been diagnosed with breast cancer, People reports.

The 40-year-old television personality found a lump during a self-examination and saw a specialist. A needle biopsy and lumpectomy lead to her diagnosis.

“It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest,” Samantha said. “I was sick of feeling the way that I did in the days after the diagnosis. I knew I needed to take control.”

Samantha was given the choice between a double mastectomy or a less-radical second lumpectomy with radiation. She chose the double mastectomy, which she will undergo later this month.
