Who is Maisie Richardson-Sellers? Meet the 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Frontrunner!

Casting is almost complete for the highly anticipated movie Star Wars: Episode VII and now newcomer Maisie Richardson-Sellers is being rumored for the female lead, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Maisie is a British student at Oxford University who has acted in several stage plays and one short film. It is being speculated that she could be up for the role of “a young black or mixed-race woman who may be a descendent of Jedi Knight Ben Kenobi.”

It is expected that unknown actors will be filling many of the main roles, as director JJ Abrams has done with many of his films in the past.

While she is being speculated for a role, sources say that Maisie has not yet been officially offered anything yet.

    Mina Says:

    Lupita is too old , she’s over 30 , the average age of these movies are geared to is 16 years boys and this is a series that take 6 to 8 years of filming and releases by the time the last is out. And Luptia looks aren’t for everyone, I personally do not find her attractive at all, and neither to most, Daily Mail had a article before the Oscar’s from a survey group who were the best looking of that years Oscar nominees. Lupita got 4% .

    Whoever writes these posts for JJ do you know how to read ……..where did you get it is the “female lead” … ” undisclosed and possibly major role” ….. That doesn’t sound like the lead, they’re already filming doubt they would wait until filming begins to find their lead… The two leads are the twin children of Han Solo Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.

    @Mina:
    Well the film takes place 30 years after episode VI of Star Wars so her being 31 isn’t a legit argument

    Drew Says:

    So she beat Lupita (an Oscar winner) and countless other chicks for the role! If it’s hers good on her and may the force be with her! She’s hot and went to Oxford so I’m expecting her to do great.

    Also just b/c it takes place 30 years later doesn’t mean she’s supposed to be 30! lmao He probably waited years to have a kid, hints why they were searching all over for a 17 y/o

    YES to Maisie! Says:

    Maisie Richard-Sellers is a beautiful and talented actress. She has theater and action roles experience. Crying, getting raped and appearing for 15 minutes in the Best Picture does not make one better than Maisie. It is also good Abrams want to give fresh faces a chance. Maisie has her chance. She can win an Oscar one day too.

    YES to Maisie! Says:

    I really don’t think age is the issue. She has shown she can play a victim well but has not shown she can play a strong lead. This is what happens when people keep accepting maid and slave roles.

    Nubiana Says:

    She’ll be getting some Fass-do-ng soon. I can see it ahead. She is just Michael’s type of woman. They would make great babies.
