Scandal's Columbus Short Isn't Returning For Season 4

It was just announced that Columbus Short will be exiting his show Scandal after being on the show for three seasons.

“At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today. I would like to first thank [creator] Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast. Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the Scandal series. I have enjoyed every single minute of it,” the 31-year-old actor, who played Harrison, shared in a statement to EW.

Columbus added, “Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas. I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful.”

ARE YOU SAD that Columbus Short isn’t on Scandal anymore?

I knew it was going to happen!

Yes, I’m sad!!!!!! Harrison Wright was the epitome of a Gladiator in a Suit. Sad.

Well then..I guess if you want to keep your job you’d better not beat the crap out of people.. I’m sorry for the loss of his character but the actor did something really bad so i guess he deserves being fired.

Wife beater.

Short’s exit from the show was kind of obvious. His character was barely in any episodes this season.

I liked Harrison. Sorry he will be leaving the show. Good luck to you Columbus.

WOW way to spoil the show

@Steph: I would totally be on board with your comment in any other situation, but considering the press Columbus has been getting about allegedly holding a knife to his wife and beating her up (note: if my details are off, please correct me), it’s not all that surprising that he’s leaving the show. This statement was awaited by many, I’m sure. If he’s guilty of what he’s accused of, I can’t imagine a television show keeping him on. They would get negative press and petitions from people to have him removed because abuse activists would probably say the show was “condoning his behavior”. I personally agree with him having to leave, although I’m also sad because I wish the actor hadn’t made those choices and in turn, not only hurt his wife, but hurt those who liked his character.

I’m sad that the character will be gone but I’m not sad that the actor was fired. He has no business being so angry and so reckless when he had such a good thing going with Scandal. He did this to himself.

He has an alcohol problem.
