Craig Ferguson Leaving 'Late Late Show' in December

Craig Ferguson will be exiting The Late Late Show this December when his contract with CBS expires.

The 51-year-old talk show host will mark ten years on the show when he closes his run on the 12:35am time slot.

It was expected that Craig would exit the network after his contract ends as he was not chosen as the successor to David Letterman‘s The Late Show.

“During his 10 years as host, Craig has elevated CBS to new creative and competitive heights at 12:30,” CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler said in a release. “He infused the broadcast with tremendous energy, unique comedy, insightful interviews and some of the most heartfelt monologues seen on television. Craig’s versatile talents as a writer, producer, actor and comedian speak to his great days ahead. While we’ll miss Craig and can’t thank him enough for his contributions to both the show and the network, we respect his decision to move on, and we look forward to celebrating his final broadcasts during the next eight months.”

I love how David Letterman and CBS did to Craig exactly what David complained NBC did to him- back in the day-pass him over for an outsider (Colbert).

This is a huge mistake. I love Craig Ferguson.
The wrong people were promoted to these new shows.
I stopped watching most of them. Craig has always been great and funny.
Like he always says, they treat him badly and they are CHEAP.

I love Craigy Ferg and his show! I’m gonna miss watching it so much – him and his hilarious shenanigans!

He was the only late show guy I actually liked.

    *sigh* :’(

    Craig is the best!!!
he`s not the typical mainstream guy like all the other late night hosts. but this shows again the bad taste of CBS.
he made the right decision to leave because he`s clearly not appreciated!!!!

I can’t believe this. I thought for sure that he would move to Dave Letterman’s spot. I am so very sad. Craig has more comic ability, intellegence, and kindness than anyone on TV. No more late night TV at our home. Best wishes Craig. You certainly will be missed. You are the best! It may be a good day for American today, but it is a sorry day for anyone who watches your show.
