Sofia Coppola hits the red carpet and gets her picture taken at the 2014 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The 42-year-old The Bling Ring director is currently in pre-production for her upcoming film The Little Mermaid. While no casting has been set yet, there have been rumors flying around about who could take the leading lady spot.

Emma Watson‘s name has been thrown out for the leading mermaid role, among other actresses. We’ll have to wait and find out!
