you can wear whatever you want Lupita and you will still have more class and grace then any of these other people in hollyweird

  • LJ

No matter what she’s wearing, she manages to look stunning.

  • Ok

Why is she famous? This is why Hollywood is still racist suddenly this overrated black actress is being shoved down the public’s throat…yet how many black actresses have worked harder and longer than her..yet they are ignored? So again white Hollywood dictates to the public which black actress should get recognition.

  • CarrieFromBelgium

Clearly a better look than Met gala’s one but Lupita ,no need to be low-key or hide your face, you’re not so famous

F*uk what the “critics” have to say. I loved that dress she wore to the MET Gala. The dress with the shoes were on point to me (even her makeup). She just needed to lose that headband and cut down the high top fade section in her hair (just even it out with a low fade). It would have been better. I would like to see more of her on film and not on gossip sites and fashion blogs.

Welcome to Hollywood 101! Hollywood does this with all actors, no matter the race. You’re upset about Lupita’s coverage, but not about Lily Collins, Oliva Munn or Amber Heard; they’re all getting shoved down our throats, but at least Lupita has an Oscar. It’s all about who you know. This is news to you?

  • hmmm

Why should I be upset about Olivia Munn or Amber Heard..I am more interested in the careers of black actresses who have been in the trenches a lot longer and respect and have not received the respect from Hollywood they deserve and Hollywood suddenly in their moment of self serving political correctness have decide let’s manufacture her into a media sensation when others before her have busted their *sses in doing great work. It’s white Hollywood dictating that she is who they want you to follow. That’s racist in itself.

It’s obvious is going to take care of itself and try to force feed Amber Heard, Emma Roberts, Lily Collins..because that’s just propelling their image. But I’m angry that all the other black actresses who’ve made money for Hollywood over the years are non existent to them.

  • >_>

@hmmm: please tell me which black actresses deserve as much coverage as lupita right at this very moment. Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer got a lot of attention from the academy when they were nominated for The Help, what I was mad about was Meryl winning the oscar over viola who deserved it far more than Meryl, now THAT is what you call a racist based decision and the fact that Hollywood wanted to still kiss Meryl’s a$$. I’m glad that lupita did get the oscar in the end over cause that would’ve been racist and biased once again. Angela Bassett is another black actress that comes to mind that has been recognized for her recent work on American Horror Story, but then again she’s an older actress like viola and Octavia, so maybe age could also be the reason, did you even consider that? Or maybe the fact that lupita is being recognized for her “current work”, it’s all about congratulating people of the moment. Black actors have been recognized for their work but it’s only for the moment that they have received success. Don’t bash lupita, you’re acting like she doesn’t deserve her masters degree from Yale for drama, it’s not like she got noticed in her early 20s with barely any acting experience, the girl was considered one of Yale’s top drama students and she is 30, she isn’t just a pretty face that is adored by the fashion world, Lupita just has a really good sense of style and actually breaks the stereotype that blacks can’t be classy or poised or elegant. People like Lupita will make white people think differently of blacks, you have to understand that, the black stereotype needs to be broken and surpassed. Do you want America to think that all blacks are meant to stay in a ghetto neighborhood and not work their way up to being successful? We need more young actors and actresses like lupita to balance all the nicki minaj’s and lil Wayne’s we have in the entertainment industry.

  • Teeter

Fair enough, I agree with you to a certain point; yes white Hollywood dictates which black (and every other colored) actresses get coverage, but isn’t a win for one black actress a win for all black actresses? Especially one who has a darker complexion?

  • Americas.obesity

the obese yanks must consider her to be emaciated.
well she is not her weight is he exact weight everyone in america and the world is supposed to be …
if you were not all so greedy.

@>_>: THANK YOU!!!!!! I’m black and I feel like black people are never satisfied and are always so critical of their own. In my life thus far, I have gotten more “hate” from other blacks than white people (including racist ones). Lupita deserves her success. She isn’t overrated because based on the piece of work (12 Years) she was being “judged” on, she killed it.
