Kim Kardashian Writes Blog on Racism & Discrimination

Kim Kardashian has taken to her blog to pen an essay on racism and discrimination.

“To be honest, before I had North, I never really gave racism or discrimination a lot of thought. It is obviously a topic that Kanye is passionate about, but I guess it was easier for me to believe that it was someone else’s battle,” the 33-year-old reality star said in the blog entry.

“But recently, I’ve read and personally experienced some incidents that have sickened me and made me take notice. I realize that racism and discrimination are still alive, and just as hateful and deadly as they ever have been,” Kim added in this short excerpt.

I never knew how much being a mom would change me. It’s amazing how one little person and the love I have for her has brought new meaning to every moment. What once seemed so important, now feels insignificant. It’s like I get to see the world for the first time again, but through someone else’s eyes. It’s a beautiful thing to feel and experience so much more, but with that beauty comes a flip side – seeing through my daughter’s eyes the side of life that isn’t always so pretty.

To be honest, before I had North, I never really gave racism or discrimination a lot of thought. It is obviously a topic that Kanye is passionate about, but I guess it was easier for me to believe that it was someone else’s battle. But recently, I’ve read and personally experienced some incidents that have sickened me and made me take notice. I realize that racism and discrimination are still alive, and just as hateful and deadly as they ever have been.

I feel a responsibility as a mother, a public figure, a human being, to do what I can to make sure that not only my child, but all children, don’t have to grow up in a world where they are judged by the color of their skin, or their gender, or their sexual orientation. I want my daughter growing up in a world where love for one another is the most important thing.

So the first step I’m taking is to stop pretending like this isn’t my issue or my problem, because it is, it’s everyone’s… because the California teenager who was harassed and killed by his classmates for being gay, the teenage blogger in Pakistan who was shot on her school bus for speaking out in favor of women’s rights, the boy in Florida who was wrongly accused of committing a crime and ultimately killed because of the color of his skin, they are all someone’s son and someone’s daughter and it is our responsibility to give them a voice and speak out for those who can’t and hopefully in the process, ensure that hate is something our children never have to see.

No Kim, just no! Stick to what you do best and that is being the shallow shell that you are.

  • Lil

I truly don’t get how people HATE her so much. She’s so, so harmless.

  • ohlord

OMG…Kim is trying to run for President…she’s so deep

  • dollhouse

Hypocrite. She’s about to marry a man that says the N-word in most of his songs, and said President Bush hates black people on national television. Stick to makeup and posing for pictures, kim.

  • mac

I guess one of her management had to write this essay. It has one too many four plus words in it.

  • Teresa

@Lil: Because people don’t really hate her, they are jealous of her, it’s pretty obvious. Celebrities don’t have any impact on our personal lives but celebrities have an impact on those who are obsess with them. Some people can’t accomplish goals in their own lives so that’s why they “hate” and can’t stand other people who are successful. It’s good seeing someone with her influence and status speaking about these issues.

  • Jack

@Teresa: I agree, Teresa. I really do not like the Kardashians, especially how Kim became famous, but for her to take her public power and put it to good use is a noble deed. She has a lot of followers and if she says no racism, a lot of them, being mind zombies, will go – maybe racism isn’t good!

  • Pikes

She didn’t write that, not one “like” in there.

  • baby

@dollhouse: LMAO, how white can you get! First of all Kanye is black, so its okay that he uses the N word, he takes that into power, he and other black people take ownership of the word, unlike white ppl who use that to belittle black ppl. Also Bush does hate black ppl and all other races, he is a rich white man, what do you expect, Even tho a lot of ppl don’t like Kim, what has she really done that personally effected us, nothing. If she can use her power for good, that’s all that matters. Now why don’t u stop criticizing other ppl and take a lesson about racism cause you clearly know nothing about it.

  • British Latin American

I don’t like how Kim became famous, or infamous, and she often seems shallow and atten-seeking, but I’m going to hope that she is sincere here.

  • Chrissy

They really are pulling out all the stops now, aren’t they? The “racism incident” was shown to be another disgusting publicity stunt and her
claiming to be so concerned about North is laughable since she only uses for publicity. This so-called essay is another way to manipulate the public into believing that Kim is anything other than the shallow, insecure, uneducated bimbo everyone knows her to be. No one with any brains would fall for this publicity stunt! Down with the famewh*res!!!

  • Whatever!!!

    Then GO AWAY!!

  • Ivvie

For once I agree with Kim, finally she opened her eyes a sees the world for what it still is racist and she stopped being so naïve.

  • Whatever!!!

    @dollhouse: EXACTLY

  • hilo

There is no way in the world that Kim wrote that; no way. She’s far too uneducated to express herself like that or to use perfect punctuation marks or to even know what some of the words – like “ensure” – mean. If you look at the blog JJ posted even today she wrote “Its” when she should have written “It’s” because she’s too stupid to know the difference. Her past blogs have many grammatical errors and those are way shorter than this one; there’s just no way that she wrote such a long blog with no errors. Somebody wrote that for her and she’s taking the credit ….

  • leila

Liste, I can’t stand the woman either. She doesn’t work for a living or do anything productive… but at least she’s writing on her blog about something that matters in the world, for once. Regardless her motives for attention, at least it’s not about her hair, makeup, famous rapper boyfriend this time.

At some point you have to realize that this woman could save the would from hunger (lol), and people would still hate on her.

I do believe this one time that she is being genuine, ’cause she must experience racism by having a biracial child and it must effect her. She’s superficial as hell, but not a monster though.

Oh, and of course someone helped her write that. Not even Angelina types her own stuff. It’s ok. Welcome to hollywood.

  • hannah

add uneducated to her list of attributes.

  • Jas

As a black woman I get more offended when someone of the same race uses the n-word because it’s disrespectful to our ancestors who were killed, belittled and tortured in that name. We’re not “taking back the power” from white people by using that word against each other. I would guess it only makes actual racist people ( not all white people are) think it’s totally acceptable to use it. It will always hold a negative connotation regardless how many times rappers use it in their songs. It doesn’t uplift anyone and never will.

Yes racism and discrimination still exist in this world. Also racism isn’t just a black/white issue, it goes across ALL races.

  • mae

She’s a superficial piece of garbage by even posting this because she didn’t write it. If she had posted a shorter piece, one which she wrote herself, it would have more of an impact than somebody else’s words. She’s trying to show everyone that she’s a deep intellectual – yeah, right.

  • Hiiii

Good for her. I can’t be against someone who is fighting racism.

  • WhatAJoke

Kim isn’t deep enough to EVER pen this!

  • mae

She’s a superficial piece of garbage by even posting this because she didn’t write it. If she had posted a shorter piece, one which she wrote herself, it would have more of an impact than somebody else’s words. She’s trying to show everyone that she’s a deep intellectual thinker – yeah, right. Thanks anyway Kim, but I don’t need a lecture from someone on your staff who gets a paycheck from you.

  • LOL

She’s the GOOP for ghetto trashy people….don’t worry Gwyneth..she won’t steal your ideas!

  • patti

She needs to stick to what she does best – shop, go to lunch, post selfies, shop, go to dinner, post selfies – and call the paps each and every time she leaves the house to make sure she gets her daily fill of media attention. Any form of intelligent thought is way above her pay grade.

  • @

    She should stick to p0rn.

  • allison

She has been with black men for more than a decade. She’s not just learning about racism. She just decided that it is beneficial to her fame to care more about it. She wants to be known more than just someone who became famous because of a porn tape.
@Jas: quote Also racism isn’t just a black/white issue, it goes across ALL races. unquote. So true.

  • Coco

@ baby…” He’s black so it’s ok”. …so stupid if a word offensive then it doesn’t matter who uses it .. But what black want is a double standard, not be judged on their character or potential but on the colour of their skin and be given special favours because of their skin colour.

  • jon m’shulla

Right Kim. Stick to the butt sex.

  • liar

She knows about racism because of the numerous black men she dated prior to Kanye. With every black man she dated she has been called names by other races due to her lack of diversity in whom she dates. This is a pr constructed move to try and change her image. Kanye is trying desperately to turn this ho into a housewife, some unique beauty, and intelligent. A couple of weeks she tried to channel Audrey Hepburn and now this. He’s a fool and so is she for believing his bs.

  • Tim

@ COCO… What do expect , black people have inferiority complex, so they always need to be treated ” special” like Kanye . If look around the world, any where blacks are the majority , they are sh*tholes and need white help to just function ..Haiti , Jamaica , Black African countries, even in America , Detroit , New Orleans.. and look at what Obama is doing to America, turing into a weak, debt ridden sh*thole. He wouldn’t even be President if he wasn’t half white and raised only by his white family. The only black people in the world that have succeeded are blacks from America because whites gave then advantages…. And they know it , you think when they look at Africa they don’t say a little pray about being glad their ancestors were sold 250 years ago else themselves would be in some hut swatting flies eating American food aid.

  • Leo

If blacks don’t like it then move to Africa, why are so many Africans in 2014 risking life and limb to illegally get into Europe or trying to immigrant into Britain, America or Canada , France and not say China or Asian countries. The black population in Britain went from practically zero to 4% in 40 years. When I see whites discriminated against in African countries even if they have been there for centuries like Zimbabwe, South Africa, I say move go back to white countries. Blacks could have left America anytime since the ending of the civil war, at that time blacks were 600 thousand , now their over 40 million, they preferred to stay in America the last 200 years instead of going to live with their own kind for a reason, treated better in white countries then from their own people. That’s why ever race moves to white nations because whites don’t look out for themselves , you don’t see Chinese moving to India or vice versa or people from the Middle East immigrating to Japan , it’s only white countries that get overwhelmed with every race , creed and religion and told they must coexist .

  • kami

and we are supposed to believe this illiterate woman with the nasal voice wrote this? i doubt she could write a complete sentence. some pr person wrote this for her.

  • ?

The one who gets caught making racists comments is Kanye. It must hurt Kanye for him to know his daughter is half white.

  • Amy

Of course racism is alive. Nothing will change that. One side’s hate is not any better or acceptable. There are plenty of black people that hate white people, and vice versa. As long as there is no physical harm being done, it shouldn’t be a concern. Respect. You don’t have to like. How do you force people to like? You cannot.

  • Anne

Hasn’t this cow dated black guys her whole life and only after having Compass she sees racism every where… ” Kimmy has seen the light ” , it’s like a come to Jesus moment for her , shm …. More likely to distract from her Vogue cover not selling well.. And to play the victim , poor Kim & Kanye no one likes then because their inter-racial ..everyone a racist , even Obama who called Kanye West a A-hole..

  • Lizz

NO matter what anyone says about her, I’m glad she released this.

  • Lisa

Kim is intelligent and this is a great post. She writes her blog herself which is more than you can say for most celebs. People are so busy mocking her and being spoonfed the media’s version of her that they don’t actually listed to her speak.

  • LaCroix

@baby: You are delusional to think that the N-word is Ok to use just cause you are black. One word does not have different meanings, there is only one to each word. It is a pejorative insult & the more black people use it the more ignorant they look. Stop using words like “you white ppl/or how white can you get” cause you seem real racist here..

  • Said Id

OMG, this is insufferable. Is racism and ‘protecting my daughter’ her next publicity tool now?

  • Erin

Her face is so jacked with all her surgeries, she looks like plastic, one more nose job and it will disappear. … And speaking of racism , how about her racism in erasing all traces of her Armenian ethnicity from her face .

  • No justice without truth

How about that school boy who got beat about by a bunch of black kids last week on his school bus because he was white, or the white father brutally beaten by a bunch of blacks still in a coma , when he left his truck to see if he had hit any one, or the the 96 year old war hero beaten and killed by two blacks for 20 dollars or the knock game of black youth targeting white/ Jews for a brutal hit to the head , killing over 5 people and seriously injuring others including women .The 5 black men who shot and killed the 21 year first year army recruit , cause they wanted to kill whitey. OR the hundreds of cases each year of blacks targeting whites… 9 out of 10 interracial crimes : rapes/murder/assault/robbery are blacks committing then against whites in America .

  • Alex

The actual word “racism” was the creation of Leon Trotsky, the mass murdering Bolshevik who caused the deaths of millions of ethnic Russian and Ukrainians during the revolution in 1917 to 1924. The word “racism was originally applied to what Trotsky called “Slavophiles” aka those ethnic Russians who, because of a love of their own race, refused to submit to the Bolsheviks. In other words, “racism” has nothing to do with hating someone of another race. It’s about taking pride in, and loving YOUR OWN RACE!

SO I COUNT MYSELF A PROUD “RACIST” if the left want to use that word.

P.S. Kim Kardashian is an anti-racist “racist”. She appears to loathe her own race to such an extent that she’s only ever dated blacks. So technically she’s deeply “racist” against whites and Asians and Mexicans, right?

  • Ashley

Make no mistake… these are her true thoughts.

“To be honest, before I had North, I never really gave racism or discrimination a lot of thought. It is obviously a topic that Kanye is passionate about, but I guess it was easier for me to believe that it was someone else’s battle,”

She is a 30some year old woman who has been engulfed in black men, black culture, made “soul food”….and this is how she felt? Someone else’s battle?? It’s very disturbing that she is just now having a slight inkling of empathy in regards to racism.

  • Ashley

Why don’t people think she wrote this? There is nothing “deep” about it.

  • Heide

    @Coco: preeeeeeeeeeach!

  • Ashley

Well, I wish her the best. Hopefully her journey of enlightenment and understanding will continue – as all of ours should.

  • Ashley

@Coco: You need to do some soul-searching.

  • Diedre

Kanye isn’t ‘passionate’ about it, he just walks around with a huge victim mentality chip on his shoulder because people call him out for his B.S. He thinks he’s a genius, but the public knows better (aside from a few idiot fans).
Neither Kanye nor Kim are discriminated against because of their race or being a bi-racial couple, but rather because they are both ridiculous, narcissistic, deluded fame ho’s.
They just don’t ‘get’ why the world isn’t as in love with them as they are with themselves.
    Hint: you’re OBNOXIOUS.

  • get over yourselves

Totally agree. When Kanye wakes up from this “dream” and realizes what she is really about, he’s going to have a breakdown.
I am counting the days until this will happen. She also spelled the word breathe as breath recently. Having her at the Met Ball was hilarious. Her dress was awful and she looked like the prostitute/porn star that she really is. Every inch of her. Mama Kris created all of this mess. Karma persists while America suffers from this disgusting family. They are everything that is wrong with America. She is not a goddess and she is not to be admired. #trash #uneducated

  • cringe

take a seat, kimmy. this looks incredibly shallow coming from you. and what does malala yousafzai’s plight have to do with racism and discrimination? her story is fundamentally about the rights of girls and women to an education. clearly you wrote this with no intention – other than trying to convince your young impressionable fans that you “totally know what’s going on in the world”

there are fewer more disgusting things than being a charlatan, this post reeks of self-serving pity and only adds to your narcissistic existence. i highly suggest you continue posting butt selfies.
