Charlize Theron Sings About Not Being Able to Sing on 'SNL'!

Charlize Theron hits the stage for her opening monologue on Saturday Night Live on Saturday (May 10) at NBC Studios in New York City.

During the 38-year-old actress ended up singing a song about how she isn’t able to sing!

“Being on this show actually taught me a lot about myself. You know, when I hosted the last time they asked me, ‘Is there anything special you want to do?’ And I said, ‘You know what, I wanna sing, because I love to sing,’” Charlize said to start off the monologue.

She then talked about how all the singing parts in the sketch from the first time she hosted basically got cut during rehearsals when the creative team realized she couldn’t sing. Watch below!

It’s a comedy show. Why would you have her on it?

I love her as an actress but she can’t force herself to be funny, it was a disastrous SNL.

@Hanna: the script wasn’t funny. That doesn’t mean she didn’t deliver herself.

she looks so different! she has to stop messing with her face, that work, fillers an botox, whatever it is, was not well done! she even looks older her age!

@Ugonna Wosu: the script was not funny, but I don’t think she has a good comic timing. Comedy is really hard to do, you have to be naturally gifted, and she is not, IMHO

@yamamay: I do not see what you see. She looked amazing and young to me.

I think her comic timing could be better, but isn’t terrible. I also believe she can improve. You don’t have to have the gift from the get go, you can develop it.

Take a look at these clips from April Fool’s 2012. Tell me you don’t think they’re funny. Most people were raving about them at the time!

@yamamay: What are you talking about? I looked at some of her first appearance on SNL and she looks almost the same. Also, Charlize is a funny person. I’ve seen some of her interviews ans she’s very witty. The writing was bad. I’ve given up on SNL. No matter who the guest is they’ll always come off bad because the writing is so bad.

It was painful to watch and she embarrassed herself. It’s not just the bad writing and the lack of comic timing of Theron, it’s that SNL is the place where whales go to die.

An SNL monologue that included singing, how original. Oh wait, almost all of them do now…

    Bruce Scheidt Says:

Another Hollywood idiot who thinks they are more important and has limitless talent. What a bonehead.

I don’t understand all these negative comments about Theron – her looks were off, her jokes were off. If you don’t like her, then don’t watch the show or don’t follow her. Simple. Period.
The only reason she attended the show was to promote her upcoming film. And I don’t blame her. All other start do that also. And I don’t blame them.
