Cory would have been 32 years old today. We can’t believe he’s been gone almost a year. Happy birthday, Cory!

Lea also took a moment to acknowledge the holiday too. “Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mommy Edith. Thank you for being the most caring & amazing mother in the world,” she wrote.

No one has to love Lea, but this young woman deserves respect from everyone. Like her or not as an actress, singer, or person, she has truly shown class, grace and strength in the midst of personal grief. I hope others can agree that amidst the situation as a whole and opinions aside, that she is someone to be respected. I know I do.

  • Whatever!!!

Very sad, it’s such a shame that his addiction to him away so young.

  • Shame

    Still milkin’ it, I see.

  • kudos

Beautiful message and it was nice and respectful

  • stopbeingaprick

@Shame: yeah you are the first a$$ hat. Or here is an idea maybe she misses him and knows his fans do too??

  • Sam

Birthdays are always hard, strength to her and his family

  • Shame

@stopbeingaprick: There is no reason in the world for her to post this personal message on a social media board other than for attention.

@Shame: Everyone else has the freedom to post photos in memorium of loved ones. Lea should be absolutely no exception. I lost my mom 6 years ago and I posted a message about her online today. Public figure or not, each of us is entitled to managing our own social media sites. It’s completely ignorant to say all she wants is attention. It’s rememberance and grief, we all have experienced or will experience it. Please, instead of being harsh, step off of your threshold and humanize her. She’s a person. There’s no reason to push anyone down. It’s unkind and completely unnecessary.

  • Sam

    @Liz: beautiful and true.

  • Shame

@Liz: Try following your own advice, Miss Condescension.

  • Shame

@Liz: P.s…copying and pasting the same comments on every message board doesn’t make them any more profound.

  • JJ

@Shame: She is not milking this! I hope you never have to lose someone you love, because you are going to be “milking it” too. She lost someone she though she was going to be spending the rest of her life with. If she didn’t post anything or say anything people would think she is a heartless bitch. So why are you being so rude? She is obviously hurting, and talking probably makes her feel better. People who lose loved ones post about them all of the time. I know I did when my grandma died. And no one ever told me I was milking it. Just because she is famous doesn’t make her any less human.

  • still..

what? I though she was done promoting her shitty album… why is she still milking this?!

  • Shame

@JJ: If and when I lose someone, I certainly will not be posting about their death on a social media site months after the fact in a ploy to garner sympathy. The departed deserve to rest in dignity; not have their memory dragged out every time some B-list starlet has a new project to promote.

I just won a bet, I make a bet with my friend that Lea will post something on twitter related with Cory. And I just won.

  • Sigh

@shame totally agree with you … Enuf is enuf

  • Who Cares

I’m with Shame, but y’all are far too invested.
PS My mom is dead too, so don’t start.

  • You don’t

Have birthdays when you are dead. That is just a ridiculous concept.

  • Meh

She could have done that quietly – without Twitter, but she had to cheapen it.

  • look

    that’s her pre-plastic surgery nose.

  • Taz

    @Meh:

In no way did she cheapen it. I think it’s beautiful that she shared that message and photos. Many of Cory’s fans will appreciate it.

  • Liz

@Shame: @Shame: I really wasn’t being condescending. I was sharing my thoughts and aspects of my life- and the reason for posting it multiple times is that somehow people still have the same ignorant thoughts in their heads. My comment wasn’t meant to be “profound.” I’m not full of myself and I don’t appreciate that assumption.
I don’t understand why people like you still pop up on these message boards. So negative.

  • laura

@still..: no dude now it’s the book

  • Danielle

My friend lost her fiancé 2 years ago. She still posts photos of him on instagram to remember him, just to even have pictures to share with the people who loved him. She was devastated by the loss and still is hurting. So her putting up pictures of her lost love makes her a fame whore? Or is that just a double standard that we make for famous people. Because you know, they lack human emotion and what not. Come on people, be serious. You guys are being rude and disrespectful. Why is it so wrong that someone remembers the person they loved most on their birthday? It’s not like she is posting about him every single day. Give her a break and stop trying to find things to complain about. She did a very sweet thing. Not too much. It seriously sickens me how many of you are being rude about this. Grow up. You see it all the time on social media, she isn’t doing it for attention. She is doing it for Cory. Whether you like it or not, she lived him a lot and still probably thinks about him a lot. O and my cousin posted a picture of her and her brother who died, does that make her a fame whore too? By your logic I guess it would.

  • Dana

@Danielle: oh my goodness, thank you so much for this. people just need to wake up. she is being tasteful, simple, and respectful. Absolutely nothing wrong with honoring the memory of a loved one (significant other or not). I appreciate what you had to say very much.

  • Rebecca

@look: she hasn’t had plastic surgery.
