I don’t know how or where to begin so I will start by saying thank you. Thank you for always being here for me. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have made in order for me to have a better life. Thank you for never giving up on me when I blamed you for everything I was doing wrong. Thank you for teaching me what love is and guiding me to become the person I am today. I am the person I am today because of you. You have taught me everything from how to brush my teeth to staying true to my beliefs no matter what people say! The only thing you never taught me was how to cook! (I really am grateful that YOU never taught me because I probably would have poisoned someone by now.) Everything I know about life is because of you.
I have waited too long to tell you what you deserve to know. As a teen and up into my mid 20’s, I did everything I possibly could to make myself different not only to my own detriment but to yours as well. I know I have already apologized and grown up a lot so you might be wondering why I am bringing this up. Like all teenage girls I had this ridiculous fear of growing up and becoming just like you. I was so ignorant and adamant about creating my ‘own’ identity. I woke up one day and realized that I am you. How could I not be? Why had I been fighting the inevitable for so long? You are the most beautiful, kind, generous, loving and let’s not forget strongest person I have ever met and the best part is that you are MY mum. I may not be exactly like you but if there is anyone in this world I am most alike it is you Mumma, and I am so proud to be your daughter. I wish there was a word to describe how much I love you but there isn’t. I love you more than words can describe. Just like I never left your side when you were sick I will never stop loving you more and more with every day the passes. I could not live without you. Happy Mother’s Day Mumma you truly are the best!
I love you I love you I love you
P.S You are still bloody nuts and at times drive me insane… but I would not have you any other way. To me you are perfect!!!
