“Well, what kind of a guy goes to every city, has sex with every girl, then he catches HIV? Is that someone we want to respect and tell our kids about?” Donald said about Magic.

He added, “I think he should be ashamed of himself. I think he should go into the background. But what does he do for the black people? He doesn’t do anything.”

Really, who cares what this man says or his opinion on anything?

I really feel like this man has been led to slaughter by certain people who are after something. First this woman has latched herself onto him and his money and she denies leaking the tape (yeah right) which was probably full of leading questions and now the buzzards are circling.
I think doing something like this interview where he is 80 and has his beliefs and opinions although some may not be agreed with, he looks to have had next to no guidance or support. I dont agree with the way he’s been treated even though he has been wrong, someone his age and that successful doesn’t warrant the kind of hard action and journalism he’s getting.

Go down to Florida and ask any senior citizen his/her opinion on subjects such as these and you will get the same or similar response. They would be candid and unresponsive to political correctness cues. They can not be expected to be judged by today’s current standards and for those who say that’s BS you will grow old and grow out of touch with what is the groupthink of the day and be judged yourselves. You are begging for it to happen as you cast your opinions and outlooks on life in your youth just as the older folks did.and though they were right.

I get his point…All of us, I think, have said stupid things once or may times in our life…Maybe he grew up in a different environment and different time and has different beliefs…Does it make him racist? Maybe…But did he deserve what the public and media did to him? Definitely not…If he is racist, I think the clippers would not have African american players or coach…

In regards to Magic Johnson…Yes, he was also right…We, public and media, easily forgive celebrities who make “BAD DECISIONS” in life…Chris Brown who beat up his girlfriend, Tiger Woods who cheated on his wife, Celebrities who makes sex tapes, Celebrities who used drugs and now Magic Johnson…I’m not saying they should not be forgiven but somehow they should not be but in a pedestal…

I feel bad for this guy, Yes he made a mistake but for his reputation and life’s works to be destroyed just like that because of a private conversation made public is just too much…

Why do you people keep saying “he made a mistake”?? he said how he felt, dont call that a mistake! The only mistake he made was trust that bubble head girlfriend of his that is now back paddling. He is a racist, point blank period. i would have respected him if he just admitted it.
