Den of Thieves centers on a “legendary bank heist crew who decides to rob the Federal Reserve in Los Angeles right under the nose of a rogue sheriff’s deputy.”

In case you didn’t know, Gerard recently exited the remake for Point Break, as a result of creative differences and a scheduling conflict.

  • http://itstrue EAST ASIANS CAN READ MINDS!!!!

Asians can hear, and see what you’re visually thinking.
THIS IS NOT A JOKE OR A MEME! This is the absolute complete truth!!!!
    .
Asians hide their mind reading abilities by a lot of them having completely expressionless faces so they don’t accidentally show facial expressions when people think things they don’t like, find funny, astonishing, etc, Asians segregate so their not nearly as susceptible to that happening.
Asians also segregate, and are untalkative to avoid accidentally saying things that are similar to what people are thinking and going to say.
    .
All Asians are keeping their mind reading abilities a secret, they don’t want ANYONE to know they can read minds! They value hiding it more than their own lives!!!
    .
Try thinking, and visually picturing things as wild as you can when you are around Asians, it works if you try enough!!! Also look for Asians who give people dirty/particular looks for what appears to be for completely no reason.
    .
PLEASE SPREAD THE MESSAGE!!!!! THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW THIS!!!!!

Good post. I study something more challenging on completely different blogs everyday. It is going to all the time be stimulating to learn content material from different writers and practice somewhat one thing from their store. I kkckbbdfccgd

Great good news see wake up to! Well done!
    -
Kind of figured something better would replace the do-over remake. Who wants to be in a redo when they can have nothing to be compared to that was made before? Especially a cult classic?
    -
Brilliant! This sounds both intelligent and intriguing. Nothing more fascinating than a Robin Hood type (my guess only) heist taking place right under the noses of those trained to prevent it, or notice it, or who could be too close to see… or involved? Key word: rogue. Excellent! A thrilling who done it? Great movie title too.
    -
Great photo of Gerry! I love that hint of a smile. And those eyes the color of sea waves… 🌊🌊🌊

  • Safari princess

It’s POINT Break, JJ, not Prison Break. And wasn’t this movie already done with Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson & Jeremy Irons and wasn’t it called Die Hard with a Vengeance??? And that’s probably not the only one with that exact storyline. Is Hollyweird running out of imagination?

  • GFW

Hollywood is running out of good scriptwriters.
    -
Like they say there are only 7 themes for movies. I’d re-post them but did that at IMDb before I deleted that account. Gerry is sticking to what works best, enhances his abilities, and focuses on what he does well… kind of a RockNRolla vibe going on if you ask me. I’m all for it…

  • http://www.pinterest.com/paisleygreene/gerard-butler-is-larger-than-life/ Paisley Greene

What do I think? I love it! Gerry could fit the part of the rogue deputy or leader of the bank robbers with equal ease. I was kind of *meh* over the Point Break remake (would have supported it just for Gerry’s sake) but THIS is the sort of film where he can be at his wise-cracking, ass-kicking, name-taking best. ;-D

  • Hollywoody

Nah I wanted to see Butler outwit Ray Winstone in glorious locations and be very Zen. Unoriginal either way whether it is loosely based remakes or supposedly “original” scripts. The great original ideas are going into cable TV series these days.

  • GFW

    @Paisley Greene:
Exactly, a thinking person’s movie rather than a popcorn action flick we see too many of. Why MARVEL has the game plan sewed up using A-List stars so why bother with something that was done well years ago? I isn’t impossible not to improve on it, The Mechanic was done well and did, but still… when one hears the words “The Mechanic” they think of Charles Bronson and Jan-Michael Vincent not Jason Statham. and Ben Foster.
    -
I’m excited for him. He’s a full plate and plenty to prepare for that’s diverse and well thought out. Good news this.
    -
Someone complained that Gods of Egypt isn’t pre-promoting with Twitter or Facebook. I suspect it’ll get its website and all that nearer completion. I, although in the minority, aren’t fond of set shots of actors in character but many do.
    -
Cannes is in full swing. Looks like some good films coming out in 2014.
    -
This also reminds me of that Spike Lee film Inside Man.

  • GFW

From the article… (and great photo selection by the way*)
    -
“Relativity is backing this one and has brought the project to Cannes to sell international rights.”
    -
    Wow!
    -
*Guess we can say Butler is back. The reason I say this isn’t so much the obvious, that he is, but that when photos are carefully selected and not just randomly selected or selected because some journalist(s) are carrying grudges or are jealous because when they look at him they feel less successful or are in revenge mode and so forth, you know the person is on-board with the project and its actors. And, trust me, it may have taken a while but it is coming ’round again. Can’t you feel it?
    -
In the meantime Gerry is carefully creating a cloud of unknowing. He’s also cultivating his mystery. He’s forcing a willed forgetfulness too. Brilliant! His career, and I’ve said this before, something he did. And he did it his way. He will always put his career above all (I think).

  • GFW

    @Hollywoody:
“Nah I wanted to see Butler outwit Ray Winstone in glorious locations and be very Zen.”
    -
Agreed that would be way cool but maybe right now not where he is? The Zen part that is. I mean word did arrive he’s back to Yoga but think that’s for flexibility (physical) for his upcoming roles? At the same time Yoga is very self-oriented. Gerry could be re-entering a very self-aware period where he is checking out his inner game as well as his outer one? If so, fantastic. No one wants to live in a private jail… even if we put ourselves there.

  • Just wondered

Do you think Madalina will have a part in this movie?

  • (*_*)

    @Just wondered: Just IDIOT!!!!!

  • GFW

I see he’s producing this with Alan as well under their new G-Base company name. “Butler and Siegel are producing under their G-Base banner.”
    -
I see G-Base and think of G-Mail. I see Yahoo! is trying to imitate gmail and now has ymail. Whatever. If it is good it gets imitated.
    -
I need to look into what producers do. I have no idea.
    -
Another example of good photo selection. Like I said, everything matters. Variety is huge.

  • GFW

M has the starring role in her own film called All About Me about her click and drag around wherever you want life. Sorry, I wasn’t going to go there but had to.

  • So many projects …

… get announced, and then eventually disappear. I don’t really get into something until they actually role cameras. It will be interesting to see if he shows up in Cannes to raise some money.

  • GFW

This hasn’t hit IMDb yet, but was just announced, and I know what you mean. Guess that’s the nature of the business? It is fickle for certain and creative people are not the easiest to work with which not only includes the front-end people like actors but directors, writers, and the gobs of people used to create two-hours of entertainment for us. Have you ever sat through credits? A lot of people make things happen. Sometimes it is beyond belief all who are involved. It is hard work too.
    -
Many never make it to stardom like Gerry has. It’s a fickle business too. You can be the It guy one year and never thought of the next. It’s a delicate industry for actors because the pool is crowded with so many who can do the same stuff and do it well.
    -
He’s done due diligence and has earned his star appeal. I’d just love him to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. He blows as much on other stuff… like sneakers, rentals (of all sorts) and leather!

  • Sunshine Daydream

Mr. Butler is certainly riding the roller coaster of film projects. Up and down and in and out. Golly gosh! Hard to keep up. :) Den of Thieves looks to be a good bad guy story, perhaps? Or will Mr. Butler play the rogue sheriff who is a bad good guy? I do have to agree that I’ll believe it when I see the trailer. Lol! I don’t even trust the rolling of the cameras anymore. Is he in Cannes, does anyone know?

  • GFW

But I can’t help myself when I start talking. I love to read my own words. Me I say all day long. It is all about me. I do love M. You all know that by now. I love M because she had my lug between her legs. I fantasize how it must be. It should have been me. I write about it on my blog. I love to tell you all about my knowledge of nothing. Have you gotten so far to this word. I haven’t. I am loosing it so I will keep writing. Until my lug see me. Oops again me me me. I can’t help it. You all know. By now. Need no sleep only my lug. My blog. And me.

I like it that most are gone now. This is fantastic! Thank you so much! Enjoy yourself over there safe and isolated. It shows there were only a few posters here anyways apart from the freak haters of me (see post #31 stealing my moniker to say nutty stuff as if it’ll stop me ;o) and a few others. I wish them the best. They can talk about anything and not be prodded by (see post #31) freaks like this there.
    -
    @Sunshine Daydream:
It would be cool if he did play the rogue sheriff. Or the mastermind. Guess we’ll find out soon enough? Hard to discuss this past we’re very thrilled he’s back getting good scripts offered again. He had to have read it, back the idea, want to produce it, as well as act in it. And that’s a really good improvement!
    -
This project also shows how long it takes for people’s work off the grounds. Same with manuscripts. And I know how hard it is to have people, often strangers, quibbling over your words. To writers our words matter a great deal. So much of ourselves are poured into them.

  • @GFW

    You’re a self absorbed idiot.

“I see G-Base and think of G-Mail. I see Yahoo! is trying to imitate gmail and now has ymail. Whatever. If it is good it gets imitated.

Uh huh, well…. You can look that up on Google or Yahoo, you vacuous nitwit.

  • http://rememberingthedesireisprivate.blogspot.com/ GFW

Why bother to come here aren’t you happy at the new place Pamela? Did you join the throngs (read: 4 people) who left to you know, just talk about Gerry’s career and not be invaded by bullies in the censored moderated environment run by a control freak like the one pounding on me? Have fun over there! I’m glad everyone’s gone! Thank them for me, will ya?!

You should be. What is your point of using this site for your personal blog or email, you just can’t answer you are so selfish. SELFISH.

That said, I went to your Twitter page yesterday and want to suggest to you, as I have not been there since, to change how you talk about yourself. You are quite attractive, bright, smart and fun-loving. And yes, you do like good music. I love Icehouse. Actually, a real ice house exists here in Old Town that has been turned into an office building.

  • https://twitter.com/pamela_swain Pamela

    @GFW:

That mullet scares me… LOL that was a reference to an OLD post from back in 2010. It was during the time of a blizzard and some guys had icehouse beer chilling in the snow and this song came up…I made a comment about the mullet and the so-called friends started posting internet pics of mullets just to mess with me…

Wow, so many projects, this is getting exciting. I think it’s normal to wonder if they will reach actual creation but still, it’s nice to see he is doing the craft he was born for and trying his best.
Someone mentioned this project as a “who did it” movie, I think it is probably more like “how did he do it” though, I guess we have to wait and see.
I think Gerard is in a good place although he might be tired for the hard work he looks like he is enjoying where he is and if he is doing Yoga it is certainly working on his mind too as you cannot really do it without your spirit getting dragged into it. It is actually the spirit that drives the body and tunes it, so, jolly good; I started doing Yoga myself last year and I found many benefits in it.

  • https://twitter.com/pamela_swain Pamela

I want to see him and Woody Harrelson together…That would be priceless. Yoga is good. Forces people to relax.
