Justin Bieber Responds to Attempted Robbery Report

Justin Bieber has responded to the report that he tried to steal a woman’s cell phone after she was about to take a photo of him.

Here is his statement via his Twitter account: “It is hard to defend myself and my privacy every moment of the day. Then to see rumors. The truth will set u free. My mom raised me to be kind to others. I get judged, harassed, and I try to take the high road. Sometimes it isn’t easy. But we keep trying. I will continue to be the man my mother raised. I love people and I will try to be kind even when things are not fair. Don’t believe rumors. Thanks for those who stick by me and those that help me grow everyday. I love you. Off to have fun and smile with friends. I’m human. I feel. I hurt. But I got thick skin too. I can handle it. I love you.”

The LAPD announced that they were investigating the attempted robbery after the woman filed a complaint.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Justin Bieber’s statement?

I have a lot of respect for this dude. We all have issues.

  • Matt

I want to act in movies so bad but at the same time, when I see some famous people getting bashed it scares me and makes me want to avoid those types of jobs because the exposure they get can become frightening.
I was bullied when I was a kid and I’m always afraid of intimidation.
But at the same time, I see Justin and he’s got a beautiful voice and great talent and gets a lot of criticism and he keeps going and wants to grow and stay positive.
So it’s a good example for me.

  • Lana

    Cool statement he made.

  • Rg

@François: thank god for people like you in this world who don’t become sheep and follow everyone’s else’s opinions :)

  • Gina

Shut up! You’ve spit on people, egged their house, harassed flight attendants, you’re not the victim.

  • Maria

Are you serious, dude? If you were a good, kind man like you claim your momma raised you, you wouldn’t need to be defending yourself at every turn. Where there is smoke, there is fire. If you are kind, people wouldn’t be filing complaints. They’d be talking about what a good guy you are. You don’t believe your sh*t smells, do you???

  • François

@Rg: For sure! But people who act like a sheep are scared.
Even if they don’t agree they will go with whatever so that they don’t get rejected.
If everybody was famous, everybody would be picked on as well or things would be twisted and lied about. Personal things would be out in the open as well.
    All life paths are complicated.
I like what he wrote because it shows that he’s a human being with a heart going through different stages, just like everybody else.

  • POLO

@Maria: I don’t agree with you on that. Some people get so much horrible backlash sometimes and that has to do with hatred they have inside them and want to put on somebody else. So many famous people get Backlash, sometimes it’s for little things and then the bashers can’t stop.

  • Martin

People change and grow, I believe in that. I’m not the teenager I used to be. I grew up, just like other people should grow up too and leave him alone.

  • Flow

    I think he’s a smart young man.
As long as he gets solid people around himself and knows what’s important to him, he’ll be fine.

  • Roberto

When bullies get to your heart and your head, things get tough and you become insecure.
When you see that it’s just mean and horrible for no reason, then you know they are just being pathetic.
You have to know how to make the difference between the two and focus on what’s right, for you.

  • duh

TMZ already confirmed an employee at the miniature golf place said that the woman who accused him was lying and made up the story for money. Also the incident was on surveillance and staff said JB didn’t even touch the woman either. The whole thing sounds so dumb.

  • Rg

@François: Very true. I appluad you.

  • Nicholas

That’s good he’s being affirmative about himself.
I think he came in this business at such a young age and then did a couple of things young man tend to do and it didn’t correspond to the old image they had of him and bashed him for it.
Let him grow up, I’m sure he’s learned a lot of things from it.
It’s just like child stars, as soon as they grow up, people don’t accept to see them change.
Behind all his success there is a human being.
He’s only 20 year old, he’s got a whole life ahead of him.
If my younger years would have been seen in the media and a big part of my privacy was taken away from me at that age, I would have flipped out.

  • François

@Rg: Thanks man :) sheep sucks! You gotta know how to defend yourself with predators.
@Nicholas: yeah, media is harsh. Some people say the dumbest things just to get attention. They put their problems on other people so they can feel problem free.

  • tamara

Justin is pathetic…then I remember how there are people that defend his actions and I realize they are even more pathetic.

  • Jeremy

Man, poor guy! I did so many crazy things when I was younger and I never got caught. Give him a break, he’s a young dude. As long as his rebellion doesn’t last too long and he doesn’t hang out with the wrong crowd or people who try to have too much influence on him, he’ll go in the right direction.

  • Macha

@tamara: Let him find himself, geez. Are you perfection on earth? At least he’s trying, he’s a good person who has made some mistakes. I think he wrote something interesting. He tells people not to believe everything they read and that he loves people and he’s trying to make efforts in his life to get better.

  • allison

I’ll be glad when his 15 minutes are up and he starts to remember what is was like when no one cared. Then he might start being nice to others like his mother raised him to be.

  • tamara

He’s trying? Um he’s trying to save face. I swear u fans are just so blind to this BOY.

  • Yves

@allison: That’s so mean to say 15 minutes are up. Let him be. What are you going to try and erase the work he’s done? You can’t, so let him live his life and focus on yours.

  • Grandoli

@tamara: Blind to what? Some people in society are even worst than that. How do you react to wars then? Man!

  • ivan

Will the media retract their smear of this kid over an incident that has just been exposed by TMZ? They hardly ever do that when it comes to Justin Bieber.
It’s time for the media to stop smearing this kid with exaggerated or false stories. He has made mistakes but deserves to be acknowledged for the much more good things he does never reported.

  • One

@ivan: He’s a great guy. The best thing in life is to keep your heart intact. Media is evil. Are there ways for them to stop bashing?

  • mom50

@Gina: I don’t agree with you. Sure he is immature in some ways. He’s young. I read that this lady who filed this report against him was harassing him when he was just trying to hit balls with a bat. and the woman kept taking pictures of him and he couldn’t see the ball. He never touched her and the witnesses and employess have stated that to the police. She was asked several times to stop and she was the aggressor. Everything in life is not as it seems on the surface

  • spirit7

@tamara: Are you not ‘ pathetic” because you judge people though you know not the whole story???

  • ?

Did his mama teach him to throw eggs and damage other people’s property?
Did his mama teach him to speed through residential streets endangering innocent people?
Did his mama teach him to pee in a bucket and leave it for the poor, underpaid janitor to clean up?
Did his mama teach him to spit on his fans?
Did his mama teach him to get high on drugs every day?
If he’s trying to be a good man, he’s going about it all wrong, wouldn’t you say.
    Come on fans.
    His actions are indefensible.
How can you respect anyone this childish, arrogant, and egotistical?

  • François

@ivan: They probably want to to paint a bad image of him.
    Why? I don’t know, but it’s sh!tty of them.
He’s got a good heart and nobody can take that away from him.

But the danger with the media is also when people participate in their game.
I really love the philosopher Socrate.
He looked for the truth in everything.
You should really read his stuff, it gives you a whole new perspective on communications, how people manipulate the truth, lies, truth, good and bad, human beings…
His philosophy really opened my eyes about a lot of things i felt but couldn’t quite understand about myself, other people and society.

    Here are two examples:

(In ancient Greece (469 – 399 BC), Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom. One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance who ran up to him excitedly and said, “Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students?”

“Wait a moment,” Socrates replied. “Before you tell me I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called the Test of Three.”

    “Test of Three?”

“That’s right,” Socrates continued. “Before you talk to me about my student let’s take a moment to test what you’re going to say. The first test is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?”

No,” the man said, “actually I just heard about It.”

“All right,” said Socrates. “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second test, the test of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?”

    “No, on the contrary…”

“So,” Socrates continued, “you want to tell me something bad about him even though you’re not certain it’s true?”

The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.

Socrates continued. “You may still pass though, because there is a third test – the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?”

    “No, not really.”

“Well,” concluded Socrates, “if what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?”

The man was defeated and ashamed. This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem. It also explains why he never found out that Plato was banging his wife.”)

“Socrates’s contributions to philosophy were a new method of approaching knowledge, a conception of the soul as the seat both of normal waking consciousness and of moral character, and a sense of the universe as purposively mind-ordered. His method, called dialectic, consisted in examining statements by pursuing their implications, on the assumption that if a statement were true it could not lead to false consequences. The method may have been suggested by Zeno of Elea, but Socrates refined it and applied it to ethical problems.

His doctrine of the soul led him to the belief that all virtues converge into one, which is the good, or knowledge of one’s true self and purposes through the course of a lifetime. Knowledge in turn depends on the nature or essence of things as they really are, for the underlying forms of things are more real than their experienced exemplifications. This conception leads to a teleological view of the world that all the forms participate in and lead to the highest form, the form of the good. Plato later elaborated this doctrine as central to his own philosophy. Socrates’s view is often described as holding virtue and knowledge to be identical, so that no man knowingly does wrong. Since virtue is identical with knowledge, it can be taught, but not as a professional specialty as the Sophists had pretended to teach it. However, Socrates himself gave no final answer to how virtue can be learned.”

  • Kanya

@mom50: That sucks, i hate rumors of false claims.

  • Kanya

@François: yeah, that’s true, I studied socrate in school. It really is useful for today’s world. Especially on how some people will manipulate other people and words into lies and influence. how some push others into ways of thinking and spreading lies. And what the truth is all about. It makes me want to read him again, so thanks. :)

  • AZ Dem

The lawyer that wrote that statement earned his pay.

  • Jan

We saw the “kind” side of Justin in the video of the egg throwing and heard his “kind” words. We also saw the “kind” behavior in the deposition in Florida. We also saw a clip of his “kindness” when he jumped out of a car and went after a photog overseas and was held back by his own bodyguard. If he is so “kind”, why are there charges pending against him in Canada, FL, and CA. Why is their charges in GA against his bodyguard who took a photog’s camera? This story seems like a pattern of behavior, not a failed attempt to be kind.

“Thanks for those who stick by me”
Translation: “Thanks to those who enable me to continue to be a major d0uche bag”
    Go away, little boy.

  • Luvpuppy

I think he is adooorable!!! And i luv him! All there experiences will Help him mature into a good man one day!

  • Diedre

@?: Because they’re as idiotic as their idol. Every single one of these people on here defending this little waste of oxygen are probably aspiring punks themselves and think his actions are cute. That’s why our nation is in such a sad state.

  • @34

Would you think that he was adorable if he intentionally caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to your home and LAUGHED about it?
He’s old enough to know better. That’s all there is to say.
He needs what we call a ‘come to Jesus’ meeting. None of his family or friends will be invited, since they do nothing but laugh and make excuses for his antics. He needs a good, quick kick in his rear.

  • Shania

I honestly don’t know what to think of Justin anymore.

  • KB

Yes he does like a bratty kid sometimes…but he actually IS a teenage boy. On top of that, it’s very easy to comment and say shame on you to a celebrity..but you have you understand this; imagine never being able to leave your house, go anywhere or be with anyone at anytime where you’re not either surrounded cameras within inches of your face or worried someone you know could be recording you or taking a photo of you. They do choose that life correct…but it doesn’t mean they should have complete tolerance all the time.

  • Keila

    @François: Love that!

  • @38

Paps weren’t hounding him when he committed all of the crimes that he is accused of. What’s your excuse for that?
Not applying any blame to him is as bad as that kid who got off after killing people when he was driving drunk. His lawyers claimed that it was his rich parent’s fault because they didn’t discipline him. They called it “affluenza”. Is that what Bieber is? Too rich to be responsible for his actions?
So stupid. You fans cannot justify his actions. No matter what you say. He’s an arrogant, privileged @ss. And he’ll only get worse.

  • http://N/A Kelly

Actions speak louder than words, i.e. pissing in a bucket, throwing eggs, harrassing flight attendants, etc. Sorry, Justin, but your words are just just white noise.
