Channing Tatum Admits He's a High Functioning Alcoholic in 'GQ'

Channing Tatum displays his huge biceps on the cover of GQ Magazine’s June 2014 issue, on newsstands May 27.

Here’s what the 34-year-old actor had to share with the mag:

On alcohol: “I probably drink too much, you know. My wife, that’s what she bought into.… I’m probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic, I guess. There’s probably a tendency to escape. I equate it to creativity, and I definitely equate it to having a good time.”

On having an imaginary friend: “His name was Boy. I think I just lived in an imaginary world. I was always playing war in the woods, people are chasing me… I wasn’t doing it because I was desperate for friends. I had friends.”

On Gambit: “the only superhero I really followed.… He was the most real to me: smoking, drinking, women-loving, thief. He just looked cool to me. I’ve always loved him. And obviously he’s Cajun.”

Why would you marry someone who was an alcoholic? Especially if you want to have kids? At some point they are going to crash and burn. Misery for all. Oh yes. I forgot. You marry for fame and fortune in Hollywood.

I guess the heavy drinking explains his fluctuating weight and the bloat. It’s a very sad thing to say. He needs to sort himself out for his family especially his daughter.

Well maybe the alcohol has something to do with the weight gain, maybe he should do it a little less in moderation. At least he’s honest, usually when you’re on a success streak like he is right now, they think they can juggle hard work and partying like they’re invincible. Hopefully he’s balancing it well for the sake of his family.

Wow, an admitted high-functioning alcoholic who believes he has more fun and more creativity this way. And, the wife knew this going in?? Yeah, sounds like great husband/father material to me.

That bloating could mean he has hepatitis. Advirl Laven’s husband kidney and liver are failing him.

No one needs to be “professional” on a freaking gossip site.. why don’t mind your own buisness. What makes you the “voice of reason”? Because the bible told you so? Did you ever notice the more religious someone is, the more pathetic, ignorant, and hateful they are towards anyone with opposing views? Sounds just like you.. a sh*t stain of society. No ones saying we should lock “you people” for spreading hate speaches on gossip sites. F**king loser.

“huge biceps” lol he looks like he’s lifted for maybe 12 workouts in his whole life. One could very easily ask him “do you even lift bro?” and the answer would probably be “very rarely.”
