Ololololol, and this is the worthy of a post Jared? Wow, times must be tough for the site to accept commissioned jobs of this kind. I appreciate the unintended laughs though. Watching the old pepaw Pittstain coattail a talented young man to try to appear hip is priceless. LOL, when have we seen this before? Oh that’s right he did this with Tinie Tempah too. Should we expect for the druggie to start getting papped next to young people? How desperated can the girdle-wearing bloated pig be! Aahahahaha!

  • William Bradley&The Jolie

Okay, what people have said about the embargo being put in place to prevent too many spoilers getting out makes sense.

One thing I would ask is that once reviews start coming in, would fans who are posting links to critic reviews let us know, if you can, if there are spoilers. I have now stopped watching new clips for Maleficent, and am trying to avoid reading anything with possible spoilers.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Ⱦamsin

Poor uneducated loons who don’t know jack about the film industry!!! Maybe if their idols were any bankable in the industry at all, they’d understand a little bit about the surge in VOD and why it’s more profitable to studios and producing companies than relying only on theater distribution.
    .
There’s a reason why the gruesome twosome projects have been self-financed and why Jen’s are not. Loontards better hope and pray that any audiences checks Maleficunt out and recover some of its ridiculous budget. That will be a challenge, considering that NONE of the HO’s movies have EVER broken even during their domestic box office run. Good luck with the spin to address the failure, release date is next week! :D

  • Ⱦamsin

I feel bad for “owned” loons, here they were so content with trying to link a true world-class, A++ lister like Sandy to the parasitic coattailing hasbeens known as the Brand. I can’t believe this mindless lemmings even suggested that Pitty was “pals” with her. LOL. Why did the Ho not get near her though? Could it be that she knows who her true friends are? Maybe she even read this bit from one of her friends…
    .

    - “Sandy and I are planning this trip, and I said, “Listen, Sandy, we are going overseas, we are going to walk down the street and visit museums.” She said, “I know. I’m preparing myself. I’m just saying if the paparazzi find us, it’s going to be the worst trip of your life, and I don’t want to be responsible for the worst trip of your life.” It’s a totally different world.”

    .
Gee, there’s no doubt that Chelsea is sooo fun to be around that she won’t even mind dealing with paparazzi. I guess true A-listers are not friends with them, like the loons’ KWEEN happens to be… bless ‘em! :)

  • trt

    @lurker:
This review is good but as you can see, it just about gave away everything. This should serve as cautionary tale to those who complain about the embargo. If I didn’t like Angelina so much, this would make me upset that they already told me the start and the end of the movie.

Just say if the film is good and that the characters were funny, sympatico or bad acting. Don’t give away the store in order to sell a few items.

    http://www.salon.com/2014/05/22/hey_gwyneth_let_angelina_show_you_how_to_talk_about_moms/
Hey, Gwyneth, let Angelina show you how to talk about moms Jolie gets right everything Paltrow got wrong-MARY ELIZABETH WILLIAMS
    .
There’s no question that motherhood is demanding — even for rich, beautiful, successful, Oscar-winning women who grew up in royal Hollywood families and who have at their fingertips resources beyond the dreams of most mere mortal parents. Yet in their recent public comments about “the world’s toughest job,” Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow have offered the public two very different views on parenting styles.
    .
In March, newly consciously uncoupled Paltrow, continuing her quest to win “Most Out of Touch Celebrity Ever,” told E! about her “rule about one movie a year,” explaining, “It’s much harder for me. I feel like I set it up in a way that makes it difficult because… for me, like if I miss a school run, they are like, ‘Where were you?’ I don’t like to be the lead so I don’t [have] to work every day… I think it’s different when you have an office job, because it’s routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening. When you’re shooting a movie, they’re like, ‘We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,’ and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it’s not like being on set.” This quite naturally set off a spate of guffaws from humans who have actually worked in offices, including a scathingly hilarious retort from writer Mackenzie Dawson, who observed, “‘Thank God I don’t make millions filming one movie per year’ is what I say to myself pretty much every morning as I wait on a windy Metro-North platform, about to begin my 45-minute commute into the city…. Livin’ la vida desk job is a breeze compared to the 14-hour days of a film set. Fourteen hours? Who in New York — especially those in the finance, law and tech professions — could possibly work 14 whole hours?”
    .
A few weeks later, Paltrow, clearly stunned that anyone would take umbrage with her declarations, penned a Goop column on “ending the mommy wars” in which she said her remarks were “somehow was taken to mean I had said a 9-5 job is easier, and a lot of heat was thrown my way, especially by other working mothers who somehow used my out-of-context quote as an opportunity to express feelings (perhaps projected) on the subject.” So let’s get it straight – she never said a 9 – 5 job was easier. She just said that “It’s much harder for me” and that “to have a regular job and be a mom is not… like being on set.” God, why so judgy? She went on to ask, “Why do we feel so entitled to opine, often so negatively, on the choices of other women? Perhaps because there is so much pressure to do it all, and do it all well all at the same time (impossible).” Truth to that, Gwyneth. What kind of a person opines, negatively, about the choices of others, like by pointing their stomachs and demanding they “Get it together”? Certainly no judgment — certainly not against people at a lower income — implied in saying you’d rather “smoke crack than eat cheese from a tin” or would “rather die than let my kid eat Cup-a-Soup.” Then again, what kind of judgment could one possible get out of referring to office work as “routine”?
    .
Contrast now, if you will, Angelina Jolie’s observation to the Daily News this week, in which the mother of six made similar statements about her own work schedule, saying, “When I feel I’m doing too much, I do less, if I can. And that’s why I’m in a rare position where I don’t have to do job after job. I can take time when my family needs it…. I can say I can only get into the [editing] room after the kids are in school, and I have to be back for dinner, and they’re coming for lunch.” But unlike Paltrow, she didn’t see her choices as an argument for how much “harder” her career is. Instead, she said, “I’m not a single mom with two jobs trying to get by every day. I have much more support than most people, most women in the world. And I have the financial means to have a home and health care and food…. I actually feel that women in my position when we have all at our disposal to help us, shouldn’t complain. Consider all the people who really struggle and don’t have the financial means, don’t have the support, and many people are single raising children. That’s hard.” Blammo.
    .
I have no doubt that both Paltrow and Jolie love the daylights out of their children and are doing the absolute best they can to provide for and nurture them. I know both women have, in the course of their parenting, gone through marital breakups that were no doubt incredibly challenging and painful. And frankly if Angelina ever wants to complain she’s having a rough day, she’s entitled to have a few just like everybody else. But if you’re going to shoot your mouth off about not only your motherhood but the task of it in general, and what the experience might be like for people who don’t have anecdotes involving their time at “a Japanese monastery during a silent retreat” or getting cooking lessons from Jamie Oliver, try not to be a complete tool about it. Have a little empathy for the people who do not have nannies and wood-burning pizza ovens. You want to end the “mommy wars”? Be nicer about the other moms in it.

What’s it like having Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow as girlfriends?
    .
It’s different because the culture of celebrity is so strange. They have good attitudes about it. But they are all so perfect-looking, so who cares if they are getting their photograph taken? They are more cautious as to how it affects other people. Sandy and I are planning this trip, and I said, “Listen, Sandy, we are going overseas, we are going to walk down the street and visit museums.” She said, “I know. I’m preparing myself. I’m just saying if the paparazzi find us, it’s going to be the worst trip of your life, and I don’t want to be responsible for the worst trip of your life.” It’s a totally different world.

Angelina Jolie: The Films that Made the Biggest Impression on Me
    ====================================================
    .
    May 22, 2014
    .
Angelina Jolie vividly remembers seeing Sleeping Beauty for the first time as a child, and being awed by the horn-hatted villain Maleficent. “It was almost like seeing Marlene Dietrich for the first time,” Jolie said. “You just think, ‘Who is this big powerful force that seems so elegant as a woman?’ She kind of had that 1930s, 1940s [look]. And even though she’s wicked, she seems to be having a very, very good time.
    .
So I just found her kind of mesmerizing.” Perhaps even then she knew it was her destiny to put a certain beauty to sleep, as she does in Disney’s new live-action Maleficent, which opens May 30. But what other films had a lasting impression on her?
    .
Yahoo Movies met with the star and director (her sophomore effort behind the camera, Unbroken, opens Christmas) to ask her about the movies that have stuck in her head from when she was a child to when she watches with her own kids.
    .
What are some of the earliest movies you remember watching?
I remember obscure things like Calamity Jane with Doris Day. I remember The Fixer with Alan Bates, which is not a movie anyone should’ve taken a child to. I was taken when I was very young because my mom had a crush on him. My mom loved Al Pacino movies, so [we watched] Dog Day Afternoon. I kind of grew up on Sidney Lumet movies… I definitely remember that period in film, and that having an effect.
    .
Do you remember the first time you saw your father in a movie?
I don’t remember it, but I was told that I was taken to see The Champ, which I still haven’t seen [since], when I was really little, which was apparently not a good idea because I got very emotional and thought he died.
    .
What was the movie that made you want to become an actor?
I don’t know. My mom wanted me to be an actor… I always liked the adventurous movies, if I’d see Lawrence of Arabia or something like that. I liked the journey you could take, the emotional journey, but then there’s also just the real journey of going to places where you can learn about other cultures and be other people and explore life in this kind of extreme way. That was something that I wanted.
    .
Is there one movie that you find yourself quoting?
I’m sure Scarface when I was younger [laughs]. There was quite a lot of Pacino, definitely, for a period. And that will creep up again I’m sure, whenever I’m angry.
    .
As you’ve moved behind the camera, are there films that you look at when you’re preparing to direct something?
Yes. All the great films. I think everybody does the same thing… and fortunately Scorsese has his film library [The Film Foundation], he can guide you to all the great films. For Unbroken, I watched Sidney Lumet’s The Hill. That was one of my inspirations, just [looking at] how clean and how it was shot, and the humanity. And of course for that one Papillon and River Kwai… We watched a lot of old footage, we watched a lot of historical stuff.
    .
Do you guys have a favorite movie to watch as a family?
Well, we tend to watch the new things coming out. We, like everybody else, watched Frozen forever, because of Vivienne. All the kids are different ages. Mad likes horror movies, so I have to sit through horror movies with him, and those scare me.
I really have loved a lot of the animated movies for children. I love the Despicable Mes, I really do like those [laughs]. We try to do Disney nature. Bears was the last one we did, that was great.
    .
Do you find yourself watching more children’s movies than adult movies?
    Yes. [Laughs] Very much so.
    .
So do you have that moment of relief when the kids go to bed and you can choose the movies?
We do, but we tend to then just watch the news or some documentary channel. So the films are the kid’s films. But fortunately, a lot of the kid’s films are really great. Brad and I went to an awards show recently and we didn’t know a lot of other things going on but when it comes to, like, Best Animated Movie, we then have a real debate about which one should [win]. That’s where we completely know. Like, we’ve got a dog in that fight, we’re aware of that.
    .
So was Frozen your pick this past year?
It was. I really liked [Pharrell’s] song “Happy” [from Despicable Me 2]. And of course working with Disney, I liked Frozen. My kids love Frozen, so when you see how happy it makes them… But they also really loved Despicable Me 2, so those were the two.

Maleficent Interview: Sam Riley On Getting The Tone Right, Learning From Birds And More

    .
One of the more Interesting characters in Maleficent is Diaval, her sidekick, or familiar. Sometimes he is a crow, and sometimes he is Sam Riley-shaped.
I spoke to Riley about the film last week. Here’s what he had to tell me about working in the fantasy, fairy tale realm.

Sam Riley on stereotypes, musical ambitions and working with Angelina Jolie
    ==========================================================
    .
Your new film Maleficent is a bit of a departure for you, in that it’s a Disney remake of Sleeping Beauty starring Angelina Jolie. Why the drastic change?
I was curious about what it was like to work on a bigger scale, not only [in terms of] budget but also green screens and sets. And I really wanted to work with Angelina. Why not? My grandfather, who is 93, is desperate to see me do something amusing in a movie before it’s too late. I want to do things that are different. People will get bored of me chain smoking cigarettes and crying, won’t they?
    .
You play Jolie’s sidekick Diaval – a shape-shifter who flits between human and raven. We read she picked you out specifically for the part. How did that happen?
I think it was Robert [Stromberg], the director, who wanted me, but she also had a say in it. One of the things she did notice was that I had a wedding ring on. She liked the fact that I was married, apparently. I think it made Brad feel more secure [laughs]. You know, [Brad might say,] “Who’s this Northern chap?”
    .
Jolie’s daughter Vivienne plays the young princess in the film. Was the whole Jolie-Pitt gang on set?
Yeah, sometimes. Brad’s a cool guy. It’s a cliché but the really famous people – the stars – are often the cool ones. It’s the ones that are frustrated they’re not as big as they think they should be – they’re the pains in the arse on set. Brad was super nice, we had a drink. It’s always surreal; you’re sort of half paying attention to it happening and half already telling your mates.
    .
Angelina sports some pretty impressive cheekbones in the film…
[Laughs] Before or after the makeup? The amazing thing is you don’t really see where the seams are, so it looks perfect. I remember on one of the first days, Peter Capaldi [who plays King Kinloch] and I were chatting and he was starting to have his makeup put on. Then I went off and four hours later this goblin – or a man with a proper goblin’s head, moving and everything with little hairs in his ears – comes over to me and just carries on the conversation. I was like, “Is that you, Peter, under there?” Unbelievable; it’s insane. So really, you barely noticed Angelina’s cheekbones when everyone else was looking so bonkers.
    .
You went on a month-long ‘beatnik bootcamp’ in preparation for On the Road. How did you go about researching this role?
[Laughs] This is f*cking embarrassing. I didn’t really know anything about ravens, for one thing. So I watched a lot of videos on YouTube. Then they arranged for me to see a movement coach from one of the London drama schools, one of the ones that refused me as a lad. For three hours I sat in a room with a raven. They are enormous; I had no idea. Really intimidating and incredible characters. I studied the raven and then with this movement coach we tried to incorporate things. It made me really glad I didn’t actually go to drama school, because by the end of session I was running round this hall flapping my arms.
    .
Nice. Moving on, you were in a relatively successful band called 10,000 Things…
    Are you being sarky?
    .
No! You did release an album, right?
Well, yeah, but we weren’t very successful. We got one of the worst reviews of all time in the NME. We were what you’d call ‘unsuccessful’.
    .
You did also support the likes of Kaiser Chiefs and Babyshambles. Do you ever wish you’d made it as a musician?
We gave it our best shot and ballsed it up, spectacularly. But I won’t ever wonder if I could have been a rock star because I gave my young adult life to it until we got dropped by our label. I had a blast doing it. But we weren’t what the public wanted or the timing wasn’t right. I mean, we were better than Kaiser Chiefs
    though [laughs].
    .
You’ve not done much TV in your time. With the likes of Kevin Spacey and Matthew McConaughey crossing over to the small screen, is that something that interests you?
I just don’t have the attention span to stick with something for that long. It’s like theatre – I admire the actors that can do it for huge runs, but I don’t think I have the capacity, stamina or psychological strength. I used to be a nervous wreck going on tour [with the band]. I’d get so apprehensive and nervous and excited before gigs – especially big ones – that I’d be sick. TV would appeal to me if it was something short, like what Woody Harrelson and McConaughey did [True Detective]. I like the idea of something having a lifespan that’s brief.
    .
And finally, how come you’re not on Twitter?
I am, but I don’t use my real name. I use it to follow what my mates are saying, but I wouldn’t dream of having an official one. Why would you want to know whether people think you’re a w*nker or you’re God’s gift? It strikes me as insane.

Great Angelina interview at link: http://news.moviefone.com/2014/05/22/angelina-jolie-maleficent-interview/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

The Coen brothers were very helpful with that in helping me to understand that they’re all different mediums. A documentary is one. A book is one. A biography is one. And a movie is one. And they’re all not to be done the same, and so find the best version for film. And, as always, to hire great crew and listen to them because I think that’s what makes a great director. There are so many people around me who have done this many, many times more than me. And if you just ask for advice, they’ll give it to you.

I love the insight into how much help the Coens were to Angie…even as they laughed that they were glad it wasn’t them directing their mofo of a script. LOL!

… and fortunately Scorsese has his film library [The Film Foundation], he can guide you to all the great films. For Unbroken, I watched Sidney Lumet’s The Hill. That was one of my inspirations, just [lookin

Thanks, Phool. Maybe Angie was visiting Marty S’s film.library, too!

Would Sandra Bulock wolf in lamb? I think all these american’s sweethearts are real bitches.

    @Jackie:
Sandra is a nice person…but I think she tends to go with the flow when the tide is moving a certain direction She is a nice girl who can sometimes be one of the mean girls. Charlize, Chelsea, Aniston and Tablespoon are all birds of the same feather. When Sandra flies with the crows, you can be sure she’s flying as one of the crows. The talons are out and the beaks are sharp. She doesn’t fly as a duck.

TLOL, yes I know he/she’s wanting attention at times but he/she’s the roach that creeps about at night especially when the lights are out.. Watch what it does when all the fans have taken off. It posts more crappola by itself just to mess up the threads.
Its mother had dropped that it one too many times on its head…maybe not by accident most of the time.

I don’t know how else to describe it other than a eyebrow performance. But it must be seen, my description is totally inadequate:

Angie’s always been able to work that raising one eyebrow a la Spock thing. The bad news for the trolls though is that Angie’s forehead is very mobile. Kinda puts waste to their repeated claims of plastic surgery, don’t it? LOL!

  • just ask

Was Sandra B spying on Brad and Angie? Did she offer herself to help Brad on MIR gala or Brad called her to help?

    @Saffron:

I don’t understand this either. Most of the tweets that I have read so far have been very positive. Don’t understand why Disney wouldn’t want that impression out there early, esp. as a potential counter to negative or lukewarm profession reviews.

Because they can build just as much buzz from people saying it was good but they can’t talk about it as they can from people giving away deets. Look at how many people whave tweeted that they saw and are taking their family when it opens. Marketing 101. It’s win-win for Disney.

Put down the crack pipe, henette. Ticky didn’t suggest Angie for M&MS. She had NOTHING to do with the casting of M&MS or any movie Brad was in. IIRC was Akiva Goldsman who suggested Angie for M&MS. Ticky would have cast herself if she’d gotten a say. Where you hens come up with this crap is beyond me. One things for sure – your asses must be wider than the Grand Canyon cuz you guys sure do pull a lot of crazy shite out of them.

Charlize hanging out with HoHandler, having an affair with Sean Penn, maybe the adoption agency should have investigated her more thoroughly, that is, if they investigated her unfortunate background at all.

So much Smart, so much Sass, so much Funny, so much FIERCE. I don’t understand why she shys away from comedy.

Maybe the problem is that we no longer have the kind of writers that produce sharp, funny, intelligent adult dialogue as they produced in the 30s, 40s and 50s, even from the 60s, and 70s. I am thinking of flicks like: All about Eve, My Girl Friday etc.

It’s like the same problem as Cleopatra: David Lean is dead.

I saw where the DM is trying to make it look as if Brad and Angie are trying to skip out on paying Dreamland in Oz for their visit. The haters are going crazy, so thrilled they don’t know what t do, wish someone here could find out the truth, we know we’ll never hear it from any other site.

  • TEAM HEIDI

    @Lena:

Sorry, troll, not buying your tactics. I’m sure you are busy trashing Brad and Angelina somewhere else, just because Aniston is persistently not delivering!!!
This pic is a paparazzi pic, and it looks like he was consoling her.

It’s Almost as fake as that picture from that short vacation that Brad was forced to take,
As soon as the invited paparazzi took the pix,
Brad left Anistonn and arquette-cox and was photographed with his family
at some game in the US.HE made sure to be seen without the Albatross!!

It was the biggest PR scam in the history of PR scams
By far. It was the scam to end all scams. It’s also the one delusional and vulgar beyond belief Anustonians
still call “a beautiful vacation’! Count in what Brad and others actually said about Aniston..

Hello troll, they all don’t even talk to Aniston!
Only a few days later, they announced the death of the merger!
And Brad was gone, gone, gone!
Told you as it is. There’s still lots of it!
