Bryan Singer Files Motion to Dismiss His Sexual Abuse Case

X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer has filed a motion to dismiss the sexual abuse case against him at the federal court in Hawaii early Wednesday (May 21).

The 48-year-old director was accused by Michael Egan of sexual abuse between August, 1999 and October, 1999, Variety reports.

“The timing of this action and inclusion of its sordid (and provably false) allegations are nothing more than tools being used to embarrass, harass, and pressure Singer and precipitate a shakedown of a perceived ‘deep pocket,’” the motion said.

Bryan claims he was not even in Hawaii during the timeline, and says that the suit was filed “to maximize public attention” prior to X-Men‘s release.

Bryan promised me a big part in X-Men if I came to his pool party.

Sad part is, this likely will be dismissed because there’s just no evidence. Even if it is dismissed, the damage is done. Singers reputation won’t recover. In a way, maybe that is a victory for his (alleged) victim.

Of course he does so, his movie’s coming out right now. That’s him sending the signal to give out the not-guilty impression so people would go to his movie, he wants the money. Don’t forget there’s another guy sueing him. What a PR stunt they’re pulling.

Im reserving judgement until the truth comes out on this one because it will eventually, it always does, either way if he is innocent then it wont matter people have already been judgmental arses before they actually saw any proof etc and the allegation will follow him forever.

Ill be the first one to scream hang him if its true but until that comes out ill be taking the neutral route.

I must say though id find the accusations more believable if they had come out when Singer isnt currently in the media spotlight with X-Men

@hmmmm: Thank you. At least someone is wise. I don’t judge innocent people either. There can be huge life damage based simply on bad talk and gossip. And that’s not simply right.
