Pharrell Williams Responds to Iranian Dancers' Arrests for Dancing to 'Happy'

Pharrell Williams and his wife Helen Lasichanh step out of 34 Restaurant after a dinner date on Wednesday (May 21) in London, England.

The day before, the 41-year-old entertainer responded to the arrests of the Iranian dancers, who posted a video on YouTube for dancing to “Happy.”

“It is beyond sad that these kids were arrested for trying to spread happiness” Pharrell wrote on Facebook.

The six Iranians were arrested for making an “obscene video clip that offended the public morals and was released in cyberspace,” according to CNN. The dancers have been released on jail, but the director of the video is still in custody. Watch the video of them dancing below.
