'X Factor' Winners Alex & Sierra Premiere Their Debut Single 'Scarecrow' - Watch Lyric Video Now!

Check out your first listen of Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton‘s very first single “Scarecrow“!

The boyfriend-girlfriend singing duo are the first and only group to win the U.S version of The X Factor, they were mentored by Simon Cowell and will release their debut album later this year.

“‘Scarecrow’ may not be slow, sad, and depressing like our more popular songs on the show but keep in mind that we’re a happy couple, not a sad one!,” Alex & Sierra wrote on their Facebook page. “We are SO passionate about this as the first look at our original music because we personally wrote this song together about our own experiences and we can perform this live and just love every second of it!”

I’m standin’ still without you
In the emptiest of fields
Wish that I could say what’s on my mind

The straw that fills your heart so you never have to feel
You say that you just need a little time

Days like these I bury my each and every word
Hide them underneath these lonely trees

The harvest moon is wicked
I know that you’ve been hurt
I swear I’m here for good I’ll never leave

[Pre-chorus]
This is where it starts tonight
If you open up your heart tonight

[Chorus]
You’re staring out the window
I’m out here in the street
You stand there like a scarecrow
I’m begging you to speak
You used to be my solid ground
Now I’m drowning in the sea
Oh, I just wanna believe in you and me
Yeah, I just wanna believe in you and me

Hey yeah, hey yeah, hey yeah, hey yeah

Used to be so full of life not just an empty shell
You’re out there all alone I wonder why

The pieces keep on falling out and I pick them up myself
But I’de let you steal the buttons from my eyes

[Pre-chorus]
This is where it starts tonight
If you open up your heart tonight

[Chorus]
You’re staring out the window
I’m out here in the street
You stand there like a scarecrow
I’m begging you to speak
You used to be my solid ground
Now I’m drowning in the sea
Oh, I just wanna believe in you and me
Yeah, I just wanna believe in you and me

Hey yeah, hey yeah, hey yeah, hey yeah

Open up for me

Well nothin’s what it seems to be

How can I make you feel again

Only you can make me real again

[Chorus]
You’re staring out the window
I’m out here in the street
You stand there like a scarecrow
I’m begging you to speak
You used to be my solid ground
Now I’m drowning in the sea
Oh, I just wanna believe in you and me
Yeah, I just wanna believe in you and me

You’re staring out the window
I’m out here in the street
You stand there like a scarecrow
I’m begging you to speak
You used to be my solid ground
Now I’m drowning in the sea
Oh, I just wanna believe in you and me
Yeah, I just wanna believe in you and me

Hey yeah, hey yeah, hey yeah, hey yeah

You’re staring out the window
I’m out here in the street
You stand there like a scarecrow

I just wanna believe in you and me

Sounds like the kind of song that some romantic comedy will grab for their soundtrack. I wouldn’t buy it, but it’s kinda catchy.

I think it’s a sweet song and definitely catchy.

Guaranteed to be a chart topper. Listened to it several times and having a lyric video let’s us fit it in to relationship with things that happened to us. They were the most successful act from a singing competition for hits on iTunes, having 8 on at once with a few number ones, never been anyone close, ever.

    @Amy Lee Christian:

Lol, must have voted for someone else on the x factor, but as the producers said after the show was over, Alex and Sierra won the most votes each week by a huge margin.

    I’m a little confused.
The puppets were cute and the puppeteers did a great job, a few of the scenes made me laugh.
But, as well as their music sold on iTunes for being sweet and easy- their personal charisma, charm, and likability is a huge part of their success. So, why make a video without the new stars that STILL need to be introduced to a new audience that never saw X Factor?
