Diane Kruger on Playing 'Bridge' Character with Asperger's: 'I Didn't Want to Be Another Actor Doing Tics'

Diane Kruger shows off her toned body as she heads to her gym for a workout on Sunday (June 1) in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old The Bridge star opened up about playing a character with Asperger syndrome on the hit FX show.

“I didn’t want to be just an actor doing tics,” Diane told Gold Derby. “Autism Speaks came on board and they introduced me to this young man called Alex Plank, and he has Asperger’s, and he allowed me to ask him all the more intense and difficult questions.”

Watch the entire seventeen minute long interview below!

FYI: Diane is carrying a Fendi bag.

    I remember when she had no boobs.

    @Rhona: Oh God… That was mean… Funny… But vevry very mean…

  • Marie

    She made all the exact same statements last year when The Bridge started. I’m not sure why media outlets are treating this as brand new information. She needs some new lines.

    @Rhona…funny, and true!

    @Rhona: at least they’re normal looking unlike too many overly inflated ones out there..

    @@: I can’t remember what event it was and I think it was a couple of years ago, but she (of course) was wearing a side-boob bearing dress and you could totally see the incision mark for the new ta ta’s. Classy in a too funny kinda way.

    There are some things i don’t understand.

    Why do they do a second “bridge” series? There is a european version which is really good.

    Why do they never have someone with aspergers playing an character with aspergers? You see, people having aspergers never succed completely in playing beeing neurotypical and we try this for our whole life to better fit in, so how shall a neurotypical actress play an aspie without missing a lot of traits.

    It really would be a good idea to have real autistic people play autistic characters in a show! Much more authentic.
