Award Winner James Monroe Iglehart Brings the House Down with Aladdin's 'Friend Like Me' at Tony Awards 2014 (Video)

James Monroe Iglehart brings the house down with his performance of “Friend Like Me” during the 2014 Tony Awards on Sunday evening (June 8) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The actor, who plays the Genie in the musical, was joined on stage by Adam Jacobs, who plays the title character, along with the supporting cast.

Later in the evening, James won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his work in the show. Congrats, James!

So sad that they couldn’t even cast ONE middle eastern person in this play. Disgusting.

@sara: Why does it always have to be about race and ethnicity? Maybe there were no qualified actors or actresses from the MidEast.
