Angelina Jolie Calls for an End to Sexual Violence in Conflict Alongside Foreign Secretary William Hague

Angelina Jolie steps out to speak at the Global Summit To End Sexual Violence In Conflict on Tuesday (June 10) in London, England.

The 39-year-old actress and humanitarian is co-hosting the four day conference alongside frequent collaborator, Foreign Secretary William Hague.

“This will be the greatest concentration of effort, of discussion and decision ever seen in combating sexual violence in conflict,” Secretary Hague told the crowd during their opening (via AFP).

“Human Rights Watch’s own research shows that in Syria and Libya sexual violence against men has been part of the pattern of sexualised torture, particularly for men who are in detention or who are being held by the regime or militia,” Angelina added.

Again a Magnificent Speech from Angelina!

# 7

Angelina is beautiful in and outside.

# 8

I so admire her commitment to those that have no voice due to where they live and their circumstances. Thanks for standing strong!

She always has interesting things to say. I also like her interviews.

Hilary Clinton should be at this conference.

Woo Hoo, on the 1st page. Very proud of Angelina and all the Participants. Kudos to William Hague for taking a co lead on this important issue.

She is so amazing and spoke so very eloquently. I am not trying to take away this special moment from Angie and the true message but I just have to post this after listening to Angie’s speech.

And somewhere on another superficial planet, a 45 year old woman spoke about herself not of others. “I uses Aveeno and Living Proof to make my skin & hair feel great.”

A woman of substance and purpose. Her mother would be proud.
.
Kudos to Angelina Jolie who saw a terrible problem in the world and tried to stop it.

Beautiful, important, world leader – Angelina is about making change happen, and bettering the world, we should all follow her example if we don’t already. Hope the conference is a success.

Indeed, beauty grows from within.

@Media Wh@re MANiston:

LOL mwm, Anuston didn’t even say it that well.

Excellent and challenging speech by Jolie well delivered. Clearly very well received by Summit participants,

I am in awe of this woman. Angelina is beautiful inside and outside.

She’s not just amazing for hosting this event and trying to make the world a better place, but she’s also gorgeous! Beautiful person inside and out!

Is this shameless woman for real? To have the nerve to show up with that creepy little man Hague, when we know their concern is fake and only aimed at erasing their sordid actions? Oh yeah we’ve seen her glorify and glamorize sexual violence in photo spreads. We’ve all heard her talk about having sex in a pool of blood to feel alive, and we know about the little man’s sex scandals, so why do this vile woman along with her partner in depravity think anyone can take them seriously?

What a sick sad world we live in when we have the scum of society lecturing us on sexual violence and morals. They might as well invite Mike Tyson and Chris Brown to discuss sexual violence, it will have the same effect. I feel disgusted.

You should. You should also feel ashamed but that’s probably too much to ask.
