Ansel Elgort: Acting in Emotional Scenes is Really Good Therapy

Ansel Elgort defies gravity in this fashionable photo from his new feature for GQ magazine.

Here’s what the 20-year-old Fault in Our Stars actor had to share with the mag:

On his character Gus: “[He's] full of himself, but in an endearing way.”

On tearjerkers: “Anytime a movie makes someone cry, it’s usually a good thing.”

On the key to nailing those emotional scenes: “Tricking your mind into really believing — I’m helpless, I have no value anymore…It’s really good therapy. I thought about how much cooler and, like, better a person Augustus is than Ansel. He’s this perfect guy. And I was like, Ansel kind of sucks.”
