    I wouldn’t walk across the street to see a movie with Tom Cruise in it. Tom is just too phoney.

    @3
    No worries Geri
    He is doing just fine without you.
    EOT is another success under his belt.
    Haters keep on hating and Cruise just keeps on being successful.

    Of course he is happy, he is in a country where he is considered tall ;)

    Tom makes movies where he doesn’t have to act, car races, climbing and just about falling, someone always chasing him. Tom is a real superman for 12 and 15 year old kids and men that are 12 and 15 years old mentally.

  • antonella

    Audra
    You have no idea what you are talking about.
    Critics have said this movie is one of his best. He has to act a lot in this “action” film
    Aside from that if you actually look at all the movies on his imdb page he has been in some incredible movies and nominated for an oscar 3 times.

  • http://comcast Joni

    @ Ruby. I am still laughing at your comment, beautiful and so true.

  • http://comcast Audra

    @antonella: He has no credibility with most people, he has made a fool of himself too many times. I couldn’t care less if he won five Oscars LOL, people don ‘t like him.

    Are you ten years old?
    Mocking someone for their height? really?? Did that make you feel good about yourself? lol.
    It just makes you look like a pathetic human being hating behind a computer on the internet someone who is way more successful then you can ever dream up.
    Hate on fool, meanwhile Tom and other celebrities will enjoy their great success while you are just another idiot on the internet spouting off your hate.

  • jason

    all haters r so desperate to defame tom cruise. that they actually google him, go to the articles written on him and then write negative comments to create public opinion against tom. i really feel sorry for these loosers. despite all their effort movie still gross over 300 million and yet to e release in japan. and no matter what they do tom cruise is a legend

  • Maverick

    So, only 1 Tom Cruise fan paid $295 mil (to date; 3rd week of release) to see him in EoT

    Such an imagination.

    No matter how bad you want it to be true that “people” don’t like Tom Cruise, the numbers don’t lie.

    Most ‘people’ don’t care about his religion, number of marriages, or gossip about his personal life. He has one job that most ‘people’ care about and that is to ‘entertain us’ and that job his has done well and successful for about the last 30 years – consistently.

    Numbers don’t lie.

  • Lucienne

    @jason:
    CORRECTION: You mean they THINK they create public opinion but obviously they haven’t since he is still going strong and his movies do well.

  • Fans are the Haters

    This movie needs to gross a minimum 400 mil just to break even – and that doesnt even include marketing. THE BREAK EVEN POINT IS OVER 400 MILLION. Think about that. WB doesnt even start to collect money until then. So for all the “haters” saying EoT is a hit…..you are wrong. No studio is in business to break even, and it hasnt even done that yet!!

  • nope

    Nope
    the fans are saying its 300 million already. They are saying if it’s 300 million after only 3rd week it will make the 400 or more
    And it doesn’t have to make 400 just to be successful.

    It took WWZ 16 weeks to make it’s $540Million and we are only at 3rd week and at 300.

    This movie is on track to do very well.

  • Maverick

    @Fans are the Haters: According to? Source(s)?

  • Maverick

    @Fans are the Haters: see my previous comment pointing to similar films staring TC HW peers. No hint that studios will not support future films by TC or any of the other mentioned actors. TC is an international star/celebrity and brings a huge purse to any film he is attached to.

    Break even with over $400 mil? source?

    Godzilla, which is listed with a $160 prod cost, has made $477 mil ww going into its 6th week and its a franchise thought to be performing well – NYT and others.

    Whereas, EoT $178 ($18 mil more) prod at $295 mil ww going into its 3rd week, half the time and 61% of Godzilla gross – This is a fail?

    Uneven measuring stick.

  • Maverick

    @Maverick: continued – Man of Steel, another franchise, $225 mil prod and $668 mil ww gross at the end of 14 weeks release.

    NYT – “Warner Bros.’ 2013 fortunes improved considerably over the summer, when it released a handful of big sequels and pictures based on iconic intellectual property, including “The Hangover Part III” and “Man of Steel.” The studio ultimately finished the year No. 1 in box-office market share. Warner Bros. has finished first or second in market share in nine of the last 10 years.”

    EoT less prod cost and nearly half MoS total $668 mil gross, 44% going into its 3rd week compared to MoS final 14 weeks, equals fail for EoT?
    Not to say EoT will finish at $668 mil but comparing numbers, it is far from a fail for an equally (or near equal) big budge non-franchise – non-sequel.

  • Maverick

    CinemaBlend – “Let’s deconstruct the numbers, courtesy of Box Office Mojo. Edge Of Tomorrow’s reported budget was a hefty at $178 million upfront, not including marketing and any other ancillary expenses. Usually, when measuring a film’s box office success, we take a figure of one and a half times the upfront budget and work with that as a benchmark for breaking even. For Edge Of Tomorrow, that figure would be $267 million. Given the film’s $29 million first weekend take, it’s not hard to wonder if Warner Bros. is regretting their decision to make the film. For comparison, the $170 million budgeted Captain America: The Winter Soldier managed to bring in an opening weekend of $95 million and has gone on to make $255 million domestically. ”

    Repeat – $295 mil going into 3rd week, which has already passed Cinemablend est. figure of $267 mil and still has July 4th Japan release.

    Hey! ME, Here!

  • Ruby

    @Joni – Sorry about the flack you got for my comment, there was no malice to it at all – he is incredibly short! Japan is definitely the place to stroke a shorties ego if your vertically challenged ;)

  • Maverick

    @Ruby:

    no malice? “incredibly short?

    yeah, no malice, just extreme exaggeration.

    weak comment from a weak minded person. ;-)

  • @Maverick

    You are dealing with the lowest form of humanity here. I doubt you will be able to reason with people who think mocking people for things they were born with and can do nothing about is funny. They are probably the kind of people who mock people with handicaps too and then say “well it’s true he is blind so it was ok”.
    We know he is below average height and there is no way that making comments like that is not mocking him for it.
    Whatever, pay them no mind. At the end of the day joke is on them. Tom (and others) are very successful (despite being below average height )and they are people who resort to mocking others on the internet.

  • Maverick

    @@Maverick:

    you’re right, but it’s still crazy that if the average us male height is 5’10″ (177.6 cm) that is Tom is 5’5″-5’7″ that is considered ‘incredibly’ short.

    incredibly short to me would be a foot or more below average and even if that were the case it’s not something the person has control over; at least not yet with science & technological advancements, may be something in that can be changed in the future.

    one minute it’s ‘be proud of you’ (i.e, stop w/all the cosmetic changes), but then people like Ruby exaggerate and joke about physical characteristics that are normal (maybe not average) and shouldn’t be considered a flaw.

    again you’re right, cyberbullies in all their glory on the celeb sites. instead of sticking to a celebrities professional conduct they have be personally vindictive.

    everyone has their own catharsis – ruby has shown hers.

  • Ruby

    @Maverick: I stopped reading after one sentence as you seemed to be dragging it on a bit. Regardless, as a 5’1 woman I feel no shame in identifying with another vertically challenged person. I love being a small person – I have amazing calves from constantly reaching up, I never have an issue gaining the affections of a tall and handsome gent, I am incredibly flexible and can often buy shoes from the children’s wear dept. So before you start spewing your hate and all your blah blah blah maybe consider that not everyone fits into your ”hater” category. Viva La Shorties!

  • Ruby

    @Maverick: in case you wanna doubt my authenticity I am a proud 157cm small :)

  • Maverick

    no ‘spewing’, no ‘hate’ that was you my dear. :-)

    but, you got the gist of my comment though.

    uh, did I use ‘hater’? –> ‘weak minded’

    comprende?

    somewhat short, but sweet. ;-)

  • @ruby

    why would he need his ego stroked in Japan for being taller?
    why would he be happy there just because he might be “considered tall”?

  • Ruby

    @Maverick – You are clearly one of those delusional folk that is hellbent on defending a celebrity you will never know, nor will ever meet, and thinks you are doing some heavenly justice in the world by doing it on a celeb/gossip site. Yes, thats right, a celebrity gossip site, i.e. not a site dedicated to upholding the rights of another human being, indeed a site that is famous for ”hear say”. I have come across the likes of you before and I am not in any way amused by your quest to shine a holy light of harassment toward anyone that has a different opinion to yours of your beloved hero. Start a fan club, sketch a poignant picture of your idol but don’t bother doing it here. It’s rather useless.

  • Ruby

    @Ruby ie Maverick again: Everyone who is short LOVES to feel tall. It is a huge ego boost to feel taller than someone, even if it’s for a moment, or in a country where everyone is quite small in stature.
    But then you would know that if you were short ;)

  • @ruby

    No I am not the same as Maverick
    Your comments highlighting his height still came across as mocking.
    Have at it if it makes you feel good.
    Gossip site or not- internet haters , gossips and mockers are the bottom of the barrel.
    Tall Poppy Syndrome- happens all the time on the net.

  • Maverick

    @Ruby:
    B@Y – “You are clearly one of those delusional folk that is hellbent on [ridiculing, mocking, making fun] a celebrity you will never know, nor will ever meet, and thinks you are doing some heavenly justice in the world by doing it on a celeb/gossip site.”

    see how that works? both ways. ;-)

  • Maverick

    @Ruby:

    “holy light of harassment’ – ooooh! interesting metaphor 😇

    ‘don’t bother doing it here. It’s rather useless.’ and yet you keep responding to me. 😜

  • Ruby

    @Ruby: Bahahahaha tall poppy syndrome, good one seeing as though I am a shortie/oompa loompa. I couldn’t care less about mocking Tom, I don’t know the guy, I got nothing against him. I’m neither for him or against him. He is short, there is no hate in stating the facts.

  • Maverick 🐎

    @Ruby:

    ok, I added 🐎 to my name to distinguish me from the @ Ruby your paranoid, delusional self thinks is me.

    dishing but can’t take it. ironic.
