Benedict Cumberbatch Tried Cannoli for the First Time, Was 'Excellent Tipper' at Boston Restaurant!

Benedict Cumberbatch yells into a megaphone while filming a protest scene for his movie Black Mass on Monday (June 30) in Boston, Mass.

The 37-year-old actor has been enjoying Boston while in town and has been trying lots of great restaurants.

This past weekend, Benedict, along with co-stars Joel Edgerton and Jesse Plemons ate cannolis together – it happened to be Benedict‘s first time trying the Italian dessert.

Earlier in the day, Benedict went to Carmelina’s for brunch.

“He’s a great guy,” Carmelina’s owner/chef Damien DiPaola told People about Benedict. “He’s a gentleman. He was so happy to be in the North End. He loved the atmosphere. They were excellent tippers. The staff was very happy.”
