Ben McKenzie & 'Gotham' Cast Are Headed to Comic-Con Later This Month!

Ben McKenzie carries a backpack on his shoulders as he steps out for the day with a pal on Tuesday (July 1) in New York City.

The 35-year-old actor was recently part of Cam Gigandet‘s rant against his former The O.C. cast members. Read what Cam said in case you missed it.

“#gotham skyline #nofilter” Ben recently wrote on Twitter, along with a pic of the skyline. See it below!

It was just announced that Ben and the cast of Gotham will screen the first episode in the series at Comic-Con later this month, EW reports. We can’t wait to read reviews!

It was so ridiculous to see him playing a high school kid who needed a guardian when he was 25. He was too old for the part– and he looked it. His forehead is so wrinkled. He’s no Zac Efron.

    That’s great news about Comic-Con!!

    Not interested in Cam’s comments.

Agreed on both counts! I couldn’t care less about any self-serving, manufactured controversy, and about a decade later to make it more pointless, except for someone desperate for publicity. And why is it still getting attention, including here? Bad move, Just Jared.

Comic-Con’s becoming an important event that keeps expanding. It should be a good preview to introduce the show, cast and creators. I’ll be looking forward to reactions and to hearing from Ben, especially as part of the panels and other commentary.

I’m with you and @Frankie. I’m not surprised that any kind of “rant” or controversy gets media attention and blown out of proportion. It’s wrong for the media to waste time on it at all, but that’s the sad state of affairs. It’s disappointing that it’s posted here more than once. And people wonder why anything negative gets publicity when something keeps being repeated, and after about 10 years? Give it a rest and on to actual news.

I don’t live near San Diego, so no shot of getting to any of the events, but all the best to Ben McKenzie and the Gotham team. Congrats to him for landing the lead. I hope he has a great character and the show’s a hit.

No interest in any rants except to put a stop to them. Why fuel more negative flames? If the media ignored the rantings, then the ranters would crawl back under their rocks. Sorry to see JJ buying into it and perpetuating.

Excited to see Ben in his new role and looking forward to having on TV again. This sounds like a great opportunity. Good luck to him and the Gotham crew with the launch at Comic-Con.

I’ve been hoping that Ben would get the chance to have a really compelling lead role. I hope that Gotham gives him that chance. The feedback from preview screenings has all been really positive, so I hope that Comic-Con adds to it.

    Ditto and ditto!

Ben’s terrific at bringing characters to life in the most subtle and realistic ways. I can’t wait to see what he does with this. No Comic-Con for me, but I hope it’s a success.

Comic-Con should be a great forum for Gotham and Ben’s always a first rate representative. I’ll be looking forward to seeing Ben this fall. He should rock this role.
