Looks better than ‘Noah’ but not as flawless as the ‘Prince of Egypt’

Was there a major shortage of black eyeliner or bronzer in the world after they filmed this?

I love how Hollyweird rewrites history in its movies. Egyptian = black people not spray tan and LORAC eyeliner.

id rather see christian do any film except a pretentious david o’russell film so im happy about this. this movie looks good though and joel edgerton plays antagonists fantastically.

@Cate: i agree, The Price of Egypt was a flawless movie in every aspect. i hope they are true to the moses-rhamses story in this movie, The Prince of Egypt didn’t fluff up the story for an animated film so it was considered pretty intense for children to watch but it was beautifully done.

@lili Egyptian people typically look middle eastern, not black. Though I agree that Egyptian people don’t look like white people with a tan either!

Hollywood did get it wrong in this case, but many ancient Egyptian royalty, particularly of the last few dynasties, like Cleopatra, were actually Macedonian Greek in genes/lineage. Even her name, ‘Cleopatra’, is derived from a Greek name.

Where did all that Cavalry come from?

Maybe I’ll see it for Christian Bale and because it’s directed by Ridley Scott. Though I don’t like Hollywood religious movies at all…

Does look like a masterpiece, although I don’t think the movie will draw on the crowds, what about the women’s performances?

This is SO off the mark from the bible, moses went off into the dessert for 40 years, and was a shepard, then god sent his brother to meet up with him, and they went into Egypt together, both called by God, i swear, but then again the truth of it wouldnt look as cool on the Big Screen ;*(

I am very interested in watching this movie, it seems like an imaginative take on the stories or things we read in the bible. Hollywood is about imagination, I do not think it was meant to depict what we read or heard as children.

Umm am I the only one who notices the massive white cast in an egyptian and jewish story. They couldve atleast got jesse eisenberg to play moses lol or someone jewish and we all know egyptains looked noghing like sigourney weaver lmao this is laughable. They were a mixture of olive and brown skinned people look at the art on the walls of egypt doode go watch the history channel. This is a sad excuse for a movie.

@nice: Glad you agree with ‘The Prince of Egypt’ love :) I agree with you about Bale and the movie does look great!

@Deelala: Yes Jesse Eisenberg. Wow, you are stupid. They might as well get Logan Lerman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Paul Rudd, Anton Yelcin, etc. who are all Jewish.
