Jay Z's Budweiser Made in America Documentary Series Highlights Minnesota & Its Historic Musical Influences!

The Budweiser Made in America Festival is coming up next month and there’s a ton to get excited about!

Kanye West, Tiesto, Kings of Leon and Pharrell Williams are headlining the Philadelphia concerts while Imagine Dragons, John Mayer, Kendrick Lamar and Afrojack are headlining the Los Angeles concerts. Both cities will simultaneously run concerts on August 30th and August 31st.

The Jay Z founded music festival started in Philadelphia in 2012 and this is the first year that Los Angeles will be running its own slate of musicians. The 2012 concerts were highlighted with an epic performance of “99 Problems” by Pearl Jam and Jay Z.

We’re taking a look at some historic music cities and artists who helped shape the sound of different regions via a fun new documentary series. First up – Minnesota!

The Budweiser produced documentary series gives a look at some of the brightest and most established artists who were influenced by Minnesota including The Replacements, Husker Du, The Hold Steady, Lizzo, and more.

“I really think that it was a perfect melting pot…you couldn’t help being influenced by it,” Tommy Stinson from The Replacements/Guns N’ Roses said about the historic state.
