Alexandra Shipp Joins the Aaliyah Biopic to Replace Zendaya

Alexandra Shipp has just landed the starring role in the upcoming Lifetime biopic based on the life of the late singer Aaliyah.

The 23-year-old actress, who is best known for her work on the show House of Anubis and her appearances on Switched at Birth and Victorious, will be replacing Zendaya in the lead role.

Talk show host Wendy Williams has also joined the movie as an executive producer.

“I’m excited to exec produce the Aaliyah @lifetimetv movie w/ @DebraMChase. Prod starts later this month and @AlexShipppp will play Aaliyah,” Wendy tweeted to announce the news.

This is just bull… I’m sorry but they really just need to put someone that actually looks like aaliyah… In the biggie movie they were on point especially with faith Evans why can’t they do the same for aaliyah I been a big fam since I was very young and reacting to first zendaya now this chic they just being lazy about this aaliyah der serves her movie to be made right And that’s the stArt of on how she looks get it on point!
