LeAnn Rimes Says Eddie Cibrian’s Kids Asked About Their Affair

LeAnn Rimes Says Eddie Cibrian’s Kids Asked About Their Affair

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian pose for photos while stopping by Extra for an interview to promote their new reality show on Wednesday afternoon (July 23) in Universal City, Calif.

The 31-year-old country singer revealed during the interview that Eddie‘s children have asked them about their affair before.

“The kids actually came to us and asked, very nonchalantly over dinner, and Eddie was very honest with them in a way that you can be with a 7-year-old and 11-year-old. He’s always the first person to say how much he loves me, and they see that in our house, and they feel that, so I think it’s important not to lie children. They understand way more,” LeAnn said. “We both never want them to come back and say, ‘You weren’t honest with us about this.’ They’re very open with us, which is cool.”

FYI: LeAnn is wearing Levi’s 501 cut-offs and a Splendid tee.

would these two just shut up and go away. their entire relationship is built on lies and cheating. and their crapy fake reality show is built on them both hating brandi. in fact hating brandi seems to be the only thing that holds their relationship together. i’m betting when they’re alone, that’s all they talk about–brandi.

There is nothing more smug than being proud of infidelity. These two have no shame. The little bit of respect that they have is used for being vindictive and shallow. And they have THE NERVE to say they are judged when they parade their harsh words and private feelings on social media. Whatever talent or wealth that Leann worked for her entire career, she wasted on this circus, on a man who is as narcissistic and biatchy as she is. If you don’t want to be judged on the homewrecking that you did then don’t post it on social media accounts. That’s what privacy settings are for. Oh, and it would better to talk about it on a show that is all about you! Saying you’re thinking of your “sons” when you do not even protect their privacy and being decent enough to not ill talk about their mother. And I don’t want to get started on Eddie. His faded impish ‘good’ looks do not make up for how he handles this fiasco. Stunned at how this couple seem to have no conscience.

LeAnn & Eddie Ratings: Incredibly Awful!

If you’ve read any reviews for LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s new VH1 series, then you know that LeAnn & Eddie might be the worst reality show ever.

But people watch lots of terrible shows starring no-talent hacks, right? After all, Keeping Up With the Kardashians is in its ninth season and we’d bet Kim doesn’t even watch anymore.

Maybe viewers would ignore the critics and the fact that Rimes and Cibrian are terrible people, and just watch the darn thing anyway.

Hahaha! Glad you were able to convince yourselves of that, VH1 execs!

An estimated 374,000 people tuned into the premiere episode of LeAnn & Eddie. To put that in perspective, the episode was beaten in the ratings by reruns of COPS and Seinfeld, and a Nickelodoen sitcom called Dog With a Blog.

So yeah, it’s all but guaranteed that LeAnn & Eddie will not be back for a second season. The only question is whether or not VH1 will let them ride out season one.

Most likely, the network will air the remaining episodes that have already been filmed. Both because they’ve already been produced, and because canning the show mid-season would be the ultimate embarrassment for the Rimes-Cibrians.

Well, we hate to say we told ya so, but as soon as we saw the first LeAnn & Eddie preview back in May, we knew this thing would be a disaster.

Somewhere, Brandi Glanville is celebrating with a second bottle of breakfast champagne.

VH1′s ‘Dating Naked’ Delivers OK Debut, ‘Leann And Eddie’ Soft
    ‘Leann And Eddie’ Soft
    Friday July 18, 2014 @ 1:45pm PDT

The sayings are that sex sells and controversy gets coverage and certainly VH1 were betting on a bit of both with Naked Dating. To that end, last night’s 9 PM debut of the self explanitory reality series from Lighthearted Entertainment delivered – somewhat. The 1-hour Naked Dating had 826,000 total viewers with 480,000 among Adults 18-9. Not only was that 0.5 rating the best non-Monday premiere in the Viacom channel has had since Mob Wives launched on April 17, 2011 with a 0.9 but it saw huge leaps up from the last quarter.

vh1Dating had a 150% increase among the demo and a 147% rise in total viewers over the same time period last quarter. Now granted, VH1 didn’t have any original programming on Thursday nights between March 29 and June 29, but triple digit rises are nothing to be scoffed at. Then again, Naked Dating’s debut was far far behind the January 6th Season 3 premiere of Single Ladies, which pulled in 2.6 million viewers that Monday. With its 11 PM encore, the Amy Paffrath-hosted Naked Dating had a total viewership of 1.289 million last night.

The rest of VH1’s new programming on VH1 might have wanted to strip down a bit to do better. Coming after the 551,000 who watched the debut of Candidly Nicole, the 10:30 premiere of Leann And Eddie was seen by a total 374,000 audience of 374,000. The former was up 51% from last quarter among the 18-49s with 325,000 watching while the later up just 19% over the last quarter’s average in the time slot with 252,000 viewers in the demo.

Is LeAnn Rimes in cahoots with paparazzi who take all of those beach bikini pics?

NEW YORK – LeAnn Rimes has had enough photos taken of her on beaches in bikinis to star in her own calendar.

The country music singer, much maligned for her scandalous marriage to her co-star Eddie Cibrian (they hooked up on the set of a Lifetime movie while they were married to others), may not be making much music these days, but she sure is a professional at staying in the press.

Like clockwork new shots of Rimes frolicking on a new beach in a new bikini appear in celebrities weeklies and web sites.

Here she is in Maui; there she is in Mexico; here she is in Malibu.

If there’s a beach, there’s a good likelihood Rimes will be on it in a teeny weeny bikini.

Now some industry insiders are speculating that these pics aren’t paparazzi shots at all, but that Rimes is tipping off the photographers to stage the shots, and maybe even getting a piece of the action for herself.

The most recent pictures of Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian looking picture perfect on a beach in Cabo San Lucas raised the eyebrows of one skeptical photo editor.

“Those photographs came into all the magazines and websites fully captioned and saying, ‘LeeAnn Rimes on a trip to renew her vows.’ There is no vow renewing in those pictures,” the industry insider told us. “There is no way the paps would have known she was doing that unless she specifically told them.”

“Plus the paps just don’t get access like that in Cabo,” the editor added. “They can’t get close enough to the celebrities without permission to get the quality of those photos. They were right next to her. There was no long lens. This was not intrusive in any way. This was a photo shoot.”

PHOTOS: Country music’s most stylish stars.

Pics like these demonstrate a truth long known in the magazine industry but hidden from consumers—celebrities are often in cahoots with the paparazzi.

“There is nothing news worthy about LeAnn Rimes frolicking on the beach”
    - Celeb weekly editor
“There are many celebrities who do everything possible to stay out of the paparazzi’s range yet many others use these photographers as their one-way ticket into glossy magazines. More behind the scenes deals are brokered between photographers and stars than most people think,” explained Dorothy Cascerceri, Senior Editor and television correspondent for In Touch Weekly magazine. “Sometimes celebs allow photo agencies to license their personal photos and other times they contact photo agencies before leaving the house so shutterbugs can snap them taking a ‘casual afternoon stroll.’ Attention-starved C- and D-listers are most well known for tipping off agencies. The paparazzi are as much puppets to some celebs as they are nuisances to others.”

VOTE: Who wore it best, LeAnn Rimes or Brooklyn Decker?

Indeed the reasons celebrities hook up with the paps are many. One is to control the kinds of pictures released to the press. Some celebs believe that if they give just a little they can avoid the paparazzi snapping them unaware in an embarrassing situation.

Another reason to hook up with the paps is to get cash, one of the dirtier little secrets of Hollywood moneymaking. Celebrities often share the proceeds from the sales of their photographs to magazines and websites with the agency that contracts the photographer taking the pictures.

Insiders said there is a possibility that Rimes is making money off her photos, even though it wouldn’t be big time cash.

“We see her in a bikini all the time. There is nothing news worthy about LeAnn Rimes frolicking on the beach so it isn’t a big money shot,” an editor told us.“It is the equivalent of Jennifer Garner walking down the street with a coffee or maybe just a little bit more. I would say they sell to magazines for $1,000 and to websites for $100 a piece.”

But if those pictures are purchased by 10 magazines around the world and a hundred websites, that is still a nice chunk of change.

But perhaps more than the money, such shots help to bolster Rimes’ somewhat tarnished brand which took a hit when she first hooked up with Cibrian while he was married to ‘Beverly Hills Real Housewife’ Brandi Glanville.

“Her story is defined as being the girl who hooked up with her co-star when they were both married and and she stole this woman’s husband. When you see her frolicking around in the sun it sends the signal this is real relationship just like yours. Maybe it was weird how they got together but now they are just like you,” an editor told us. “There is nothing news worthy about LeeAnn Rimes frolicking on the beach but it is another reminder to anyone who will pay attention that she is happy and skinny and still married.”

Rimes did not respond to our request for comment.

VH1′s LeAnn & Eddie: The (not good) ways they’re perfect together

Unflattering traits make LeAnn and Eddie
    the perfect couple

Thursday night’s premiere of VH1′s LeAnn & Eddie showed us what we already knew — LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are perfect together, for all the wrong reasons. This assessment of their shared unflattering characteristics is going to sound harsher than we mean it, but we can’t imagine there was one person who watched that premiere and came away feeling good about this couple’s dynamic.

The arrogance shared by this couple is palpable. If you are ever wondering what a big deal they are, just sit down, and they’ll explain it to you. They open the premiere by bragging about LeAnn’s awards being too numerous to count and Eddie’s successful 20-year acting career. From there, the rest of LeAnn & Eddie focuses on how much attention their relationship gets, insinuating that the general populous gives a rip about their marriage.

Eddie Cibrian denies asking Brandi Glanville for child support >>

Caustic, snide remarks can be humorous if delivered correctly. If not, they can come off as venomous, and this couple’s snide comments and attitude lean toward the latter. In the introduction, Eddie discusses how most people think LeAnn is a home wrecker, and she chimes in, “You forgot alcoholic, pill popper and child stealer.” She goes on to snidely mock public perception by describing Eddie as a “man *****, moocher” who married LeAnn for her money.

Is LeAnn Rimes going for “Most Obnoxious Celeb” title? >>

Rimes gets in several snide digs, and we quickly learn that this self-consumed couple thinks every move they make will be tabloid fodder. When she decides to skydive, she says that if something happens the tabloids will likely say Eddie pushed her out of the plane and took her $50 million. If only Americans cared that much about what these two do.

We’re not prudes, and we love inappropriate humor as much as the next LeAnn & Eddie viewer, but there is something so harsh in the undercurrent between these two that their jokes and dynamic just come off as tacky at times. They talk about money way too much, which gets tasteless after a while. LeAnn says she’d “s*** herself” if she skydived, and Eddie pipes up that wouldn’t be good for the guy strapped to her (ew), but the tackiest line has to be at the end. In what should be a sweet moment (if such a sentiment is possible between these two), Cibrian tells Rimes he’s proud of her for jumping out of a plane, and then he ruins it by saying, “I would love you even if you only had $10 million.” Rimes trumps this by saying, “I would love you even if you were fat and ugly,” but then quickly says, “No I wouldn’t.” Again, this should come off as funny, and it just doesn’t.

LeAnn Rimes: Highlights from cringe-worthy interviews >>

“Phony” isn’t a word you should really throw around to describe people, but this couple comes across as so disingenuous that it leaves us with few other options. When they talk about the title of the show, Cibrian says “Eddie and LeAnn,” and Rimes corrects him and says pointedly, “LeAnn and Eddie.” Cibrian gets a long-suffering look on his face and says, “LeAnn and Eddie.” The moment is so obviously scripted it just falls flat. Then we see these two being driven to Cibrian’s movie premiere (obvious plug) and — we’re just going to say it out loud — a benefit for veterans (also an obvious plug?). If anyone else had done a veteran benefit on camera, we would be inclined to think that was a good thing, but their portrayal of themselves (not the tabloid portrayal of them) leaves us thinking these two aren’t terribly charitable souls.

The last trait these two share that makes them perfect together is their ability to play the victim card. They both engaged in activities that led to the bitter divorce of two marriages and now they are the victims of relentless tabloid scandal. Rimes makes a big deal about finally getting out of her 20-year recording contract and finally being free. Wait a minute. Isn’t that the same contract that earned her all those awards she bragged about as well as the $50 million they constantly discuss?

Were we the only ones who walked away from this show feeling like Brandi Glanville’s loss of Eddie Cibrian may be the best thing that ever happened to her?

    The Washington Post
LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian image PR backfires with terrible new reality show

There are a lot of people gunning for the “Worst Person on Reality TV” title — but we might have a couple of new frontrunners after Thursday night’s premiere of “LeAnn & Eddie,” the awful, smug new reality show starring LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian.

The show is marketed as “the real truth” about the controversial couple — and as those who skim supermarket tabloids are well aware, both are desperately in need of some image rehab. Rimes (country music star) and Cibrian (TV actor) have been inextricably linked ever since 2009 when they had an affair while filming a Lifetime original movie. Both were married to other people at the time.

In an unusual twist, Cibrian and Rimes didn’t deny it. Instead, they left their respective spouses and got married. What followed has been years of an astonishingly messy, personal family issue played out in a very nasty, public way — pretty ugly stuff, even for a celebrity scandal. Now, apparently not quite ready to let go of the spotlight, Rimes and Cibrian have decided to dredge it all up again with a reality series on VH1.

Rimes and Cibrian’s explanation for doing the show is this: Tabloids and paparazzi have profited off their personal drama for years, so they want to take control of the story. They feel this is necessary because Cibrian’s ex-wife, Brandi Glanville, (the mother of his two sons) parlayed Cibrian’s betrayal into a gig on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and two memoirs; in all projects, she goes into explicit detail about her former marriage. Glanville and Rimes have famously been in massive Twitter fights, while she and Cibrian feud across the tabloids about everything from child support to more cheating accusations.

Anyway, it’s pretty stomach-turning to see a family fall apart in the public eye, and not a surprise that Rimes and Cibrian want to repair some of the damage they’ve done to their reputations. Unfortunately, the show completely backfires, as they make a few crucial missteps along the way in the premiere.

First, they try to spin their marital issues as a light-hearted joke — because if you can’t laugh at your problems, then how else can you deal?! Sure, fine, except the “jokes” are actually cruel barbs aimed at their enemies, mostly Glanville. It makes them both come across as incredibly self-satisfied and generally terrible.

“Our relationship didn’t quite start off like we had planned,” Rimes says cheerfully at the beginning of the premiere, as previous tabloid covers fly across the screen with headlines like “LEANN CAUGHT IN AN AFFAIR” and “BRANDI CHEATED FIRST.” (Aww, keepsakes!)

“We were both married to other people when we fell in love,” Cibrian confesses sheepishly; the two are cuddled on a couch together. “And I know most of you think my wife is a homewrecker and a stalker.”

“You’re forgetting alcoholic, pill popper and children stealer!” Rimes pipes up, echoing rumors about the past and adding some tabloid theories about Cibrian: “And you’re also a moocher, you have no job, and you married me for my money.”

“Look, everyone thinks they really know how it is with us,” Cibrian says defiantly. “But there’s two sides to every story — and this is ours.”

That leads into the next problem — even though they claim to laugh off every tabloid rumor, they are obsessed with everything written about them. To that point, if there weren’t any tabloids, there definitely wouldn’t be a show. The entire episode centers about the fact that Star magazine published a story claiming they’re getting a “$50 million divorce.”

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian Basically Just Ruined the Kids

You know what’s probably pretty hard? Being the children of famous folks and at the tender young ages of 7 and 11 having to deal with divorce and scandal and sidelong stares anytime they go out in public.

You know what’s probably even harder? Having to hear exactly why you have a “broken” home, and then trying to wrap your head around the very idea of marital infidelity and its consequences, and why your mom and dad and stepmother really just flat-out despise one another. Try that out for size while we weep in heart-rending pity for these poor children.

Despite any selflessness that LeAnn and Eddie claim to possess when it comes to the children, they both recently thought it was high time that the kids knew about the affair that wrecked their biological mother’s marriage. While you soak that in, consider this: truth be told, there’s probably no greater fallout than that of what the kids will experience when they actually are able to fully process the most disturbing casualties of a marriage littered with infidelities and trust issues.

In a recent interview with Life & Style, Eddie claimed that the children know all about the affair, and naturally, LeAnn threw her two cents in on the ones who were — and still are — probably affected the most by the divorce.

“We’ve had discussions with them about the whole situation,” Eddie says to the magazine. LeAnn adds, “They understand more than you think they do.”

I’m sorry, but at 7 and 11, children are barely even able to process divorce and separate homes and the idea of their father almost immediately shacking up with the woman who helped wreck their parents’ marriage so quickly after the scandal went public, let alone understand the intricacies of infidelity and the demolition of trust over sex, of all things. You honestly think an elementary school child and a 6th grader are going to understand that they’ve got an overbearing “bonus mom” because their dad couldn’t keep it in his pants?

We’ve reached out to Brandi Glanville for comment — because we’re Team Glanville all the way on this one, and especially if she wasn’t in on this conversation to begin with.

LeAnn Rimes And Eddie Cibrian Reach A New Low

Seriously!?!? That is all I could think of when I read the latest news about LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian. In a move that I can only assume was meant as a publicity stunt for their ratings-challenged reality show, LeAnn & Eddie, the terrible twosome is now sinking to a new level.

In the latest issue of Life & Style, Brandi Glanville’s ex-husband and his mistress wife explain that they told Eddie’s two sons about their affair. Seriously!?!?!

Apparently these two super-parents did not get the memo about not telling your kids everything. Since when is it necessary to tell your kids — in this case Eddie and Brandi’s sons, Mason, 11, and Jake, 7 — about the torrid affair that broke up your marriage to their mom.

“We’ve had discussions with them about the whole situation,’ Eddie said in the interview. “They understand more than you think they do,” LeAnn adds.

Can’t wait to see what Brandi has to say about this. Needless to say, she and Eddie have not had a friendly break-up. She even had to deal with another of his mistress’ over at SUR on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. And she and Leann have famously feuded over Twitter — mostly about the boys — I don’t know how many times. LeAnn has also been bashing Brandi while doing publicity for their show by continuously calling herself a ‘real housewife.’

And I get that the boys probably hear things at school, or may even see things when they are in line at the grocery store. But does the public need to know that you shared with your kids how you met their stepmother. I think this is a don’t ask, don’t tell kind of situation.

If this was a publicity stunt for their new show, it is even more disgusting! LeAnn and Eddie go on and on about not putting the boys in the spotlight — they are not featured on camera — then what exactly do they think talking about this is doing? Well, they are being talked about everywhere online today. So, hello spotlight!

Has LeAnn & Eddie been cancelled yet?
