Freddie Prinze Jr. Calls Kiefer Sutherland 'Most Unprofessional Dude in the World'

Freddie Prinze Jr. Calls Kiefer Sutherland 'Most Unprofessional Dude in the World'

Freddie Prinze, Jr. is opening up about his experience working on 24 as a guest star back in 2010, a job that almost made him quit acting.

“I did 24, it was terrible. I hated every moment of it,” Freddie told ABC News. “Kiefer [Sutherland] was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash, I’d say it to his face, I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that… I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped.”

“I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE for Christ’s sake and it was a crazier job than working with Kiefer,” he added. “But, at least he was cool and tall. I didn’t have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do. Just put the guy on an apple box or don’t hire me next time. You know I’m 6 feet and he’s 5’4.”

Saw a Documentary on male actors awhile back, can’t recall the title, a lot of good actors were interviewed – the actors that you have seen their faces over and over but can’t remember their names even if you liked their characters, and they did discuss how regulars or even some of the crew of the TV series would make the extras or small roles in a tv series feel like if they were not there.

    Barbara Says:

Is he joking, or is he a real jerk. You don’t demean fellow actors like that. By the way Freddie, he has a series and you don’t…..

    Matt Says:

lol! that was priceless! i wish more celebs would be honest like that.

    Amy Says:

Kiefer is allegedly an alcoholic so this is expected behavior.

    Truth Says:

Love that he is being called out, he’s always had bad rep. Shorties are usually high maintenance….

    T Says:

Hahaha! Kiefer Sutherland is the biggest jerk out there. Ask Julia Roberts. Freddie Prinze is just being honest.

    xyzc Says:

Yes, but at least he’s talented and has charisma. Smth that Prinze Jr. totally lacks of, end of story

    xyzc Says:

    xyzc Says:

    W Says:

Oh my god I can’t believe he said that?! Seems so random. Is he just trying to get ratings for his new show though… how many actors have been on 24 and this is the first anyone’s mentioned that. I loved Cole Ortiz!

    hazbeen Says:

HA! Its not Kiefers fault you suck at Acting. You did scooby doo, summer catch, and other YOUNG FILMS. Keifer is a trained actor so is his dad. Unprofessional? HOW? You probably just couldnt keep up with acting in a REAL TIME drama. GET A LIFE, and good luck getting a job, your acting stinks.

    Maria Says:

Having talent doesn’t equal being a good person. The biggest talents are usually the biggest jerks. Learn to handle the truth.

    JustChill'n Says:

Kiefer Sutherland talented?? & has charisma?? What have you been smoking xyzc?? I’d say it takes charisma to star in a Scooby Doo movie. (tee-hee) And that would have been Freddie Prinze, Jr. – not the stick-in-the-mud Sutherland. Go Freddie, J! Tell it like it is.

    leah Says:

I’m confused. He definitely looks taller than 5’4 in most photos.

    beatrice Says:

Although tacky to voice it after all this time in this way, he is entitled to his opinion. It has been widely reported that Freddie Prinze did not act as much not because he was not offered work, but he also chose not to take some jobs. Keifer has done plenty of awful movies, and 24 was not everyonen’s cup of tea. Just because Prinze has not been in as many projects-you can debate success of the projects- doesn’t mean his opinion is not just. Maybe KS was great with everyone but him..who knows?

    Ian Says:

Freddie wasn’t a guest star on 24. He was main cast in season 8. Just me nitpicking.

    Richard Cameron Says:

Oh grow up Freddie! You got a fat paycheck and were invited to appear on one of the most epic, kickass TV programs in history. Do you need me to call you a Whaaaaaaambulance?

    Dwayne Says:

    @leah: @leah:

He is. Kiefer is 5’9″ so that should go to show Freddie Prinze jr. has no idea what he’s talking about.

    t Says:

Freddie Prinze Jr….funny, haven’t heard from him in about 4 years. I guess this is his way fto get people to talk about him again.

    Munboy Says:

Pathetic attempt to be something other than “That Guy Married to Sarah Michelle Gellar”.

  21. 21
    Gina Says:

@leah: I think Freddie knows Keifer isn’t actually 5’4″ he was just being snide & rubbing salt in the wound as no man wants to be called short. With that said Keifer is a renowned douchebag, so more power to Freddie for speaking his truth. Many good actors like Keifer get away with being douches because of them being widely respected for thier acting chops. Well not today.

    Jake Says:

Who gives a flying monkey’s ass!

    Cari Says:

Keifer filmed for a week where my husband works once, and he was a complete jerk to everyone–entitled, demanding, and just plain mean. I have no doubt he is horrible to work with. However, if they want to pay me a million bucks, I’m sure I could find a way to tolerate him:)

    Tom Says:

When I saw this article, the first thing I thought was “talk about the pot calling the kettle black”…

I worked on Freddie’s short-lived sitcom “Freddie” back in 2005 when I was still working in the film/tv industry and I can tell you from experience he was by far the most miserable person on set every day. You had to walk on egg shells around him or face his wrath. He rarely smiled, like he wasn’t enjoying having his own show. I distinctly remember during one rehearsal there was some noise on the sound stage and Freddie shouted out “The next person who makes any sound is fired!” That was not a hollow threat, considering he was the “star” of the show and one of the executive producers.

    a minger Says:

    Keifer’s a minger
I hate his looks and never watch 24
    He’s a jealous, angry jerk
you can just tell by looking at him
