Ariana Grande Reveals She's Fallen Out of Touch With her Father in 'Seventeen'

Ariana Grande looks school girl chic on the cover of Seventeen magazine’s September 2014 issue, on newsstands August 5.

Here’s what the 21-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag:

On growing up in the spotlight: “It’s tough to spend some of the most important years of your life in front of so many strangers who want to pick you apart. Insecurity has been the hardest thing I’ve had to overcome. I think everyone my age struggles with that because everyone strives for approval and wants to feel loved.”

On getting over her insecurities: “I focus on what’s important. My grandpa is sick, so I focus on him every day. I’m having the biggest song of my career so far, and all I can think about is my grandpa, because that’s what’s important to me.” – This interview took place before Ariana’s grandfather passed. She added later, “This interview took place before I lost my grandfather. Reading it back now is, of course, very hard but I’m so grateful that I spoke briefly about some of the wisdom he shared with me in this interview. I hope the Seventeen readers find it helpful and can relate.”

On the toughest thing she’s dealt with: “Falling out of touch with my dad. It’s private, but it happened last year. It took me so long to be okay with it. The thing that got me there was embracing the fact that I am made up of half my dad, and a lot of my traits come from him. So much of me comes from my father, and for so long, I didn’t like that about myself. I had to accept that it’s okay not to get along with somebody and still love them.”

They always make Ariana Grande look like a little girl when she’s a grown woman to appeal to teenagers. It’s very deceptive. Can she dress like an adult please.

Can’t stand her. Total phony with her Lolita act. She’s far from innocent and has used the casting couch just as much as everyone else, if not more. I saw her on TV a few days ago in an interview, and she was busy primping when she didn’t think the cameras were on her. She looked phony and stupid.

Don’t worry your little heart darling. You and daddy are going to get back together real soon.
Meanwhile, could you be an angel and go get daddy a beer from the fridge?

So what. I’m going to cast her in an updated three way version of that classic underaged lover movie Lolita.
Here’s a quarter. Go call someone who cares…

Just wait until you see Cara’s co-star wardrobe in the above Lolita remake.
Not to be confused with that other earlier remake that failed to inspire.

    Matt Says:

who is she? i still don’t know, she needs an identity because she comes off as really Fake. Perez said she does Blow and others have said she has personal ‘issues’. what a mess. and btw the second single sucks.

She’s so fake just like the majority of teen celebrities. She acts all sweet and innocent and puts on a fake identity all the time. Like I’m sorry but what do you have to be proud of? You played a dumb girl on two shows and made songs that most people wont remember and gets old very quickly.
You want to see real talent? Get off nick and get off the radio. Pop culture is garbage just like her personality.
If your problem is so private then you shouldn’t have said anything in the first place
