Zac Efron Opens Up About Life Before Rehab: The Press Was Everywhere & I Needed a Social Lubricant

Zac Efron opened up about being young and famous and his stint in rehab while on Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

“The challenging part was never the work…it was sort of the in-between work. The socials aspects. Everywhere you go to an extent there is press,” the 26-year-old actor said.

He detailed to Bear that there were press everywhere and “it can be very confusing.”

“Pretty soon, you need a social lubricant. It was getting to the point where I was caring less about the work and caring more about the weekend. I couldn’t wait to go out. And sort of let loose and have fun. But when Monday and Tuesday were difficult to get through, then I was like ‘ugh this is bad.’”
