Maggie Gyllenhaal Gets Political: I'm Not Sure What President Obama Believes in Anymore

Maggie Gyllenhaal arrives to the Good Morning America studios to promote her new show The Honorable Woman on Thursday morning (July 31) in New York City.

The 36-year-old actress, who met up with Julia Louis-Dreyfus at the studios and took a selfie, visited the Daily Show the day before in an orange dress to promote her show.

During an interview with Time magazine, Maggie got political and discussed President Obama and the Israel-Palestine conflict.

“I really believed in him and I’m not sure what he believes in any more,” Maggie said about President Obama. “I still root for him. But I feel a little hopeless right now….I hope for a leader who will stand up and be unpopular.”

“You know, you say one word on one side or the other, and you alienate hundreds of thousands of people,” Maggie said about Israel and Palestine. Watch below.

The Honorable Woman premieres tonight on SundanceTV.

You voted for the end of your country and your children’s futures.
And you’re still babbling about you “still root for him.”
He’s handing over everything you have to the gruesome, illiterate savages of the planet. He’s taking everything your parents and their parents and their parents built and bequeathed to you, the source of all our freedom, peace and prosperity, our great civil society.
He’s openly, brazenly and loudly contemptuous of our great framing document and all our great political and social traditions.
He’s deliberately setting the stage for a terrible racial and religious civil war in this country, the nascent stages of which we are already in now.
You voted for him and you’re still covering for him.

@offtheproperty: Your crazy is showing. Time to tuck that back in.

@offtheproperty: When people start screaming about “race wars” they immediately are labeled as crazy. Only racist monsters use that term. You should get off of JJ and go get yourself some serious help.

    offtheproperty Says:

So “race wars,” like “racist” are more words that you use to silence people you don’t agree with?

obama is the worst enemy this country has ever faced.
You don’t have the slightest clue about the things he’s really up to because you probably believe the Pollyannish claptrap he can count on you swallowing every time he holds another of his Mussolini rallies.
“Just Stop Hatin’ All The Time!”
No demagogue has ever done it better.

You voted for an African dictator for President of the United States.

    Aisaiko5 Says:

@offtheproperty: LOL! I really didn’t expect you to understand how crazy you sound. They’ve done studies that show racism is a form of mental illness. You’re just broken. But I would never silence anyone, so feel free to scream your crazy from the highest bell tower. Just know that no one takes you seriously. Good luck with all that.

    @offtheproperty: Crazy Zionist!

    offtheproperty Says:

Ms. Gyllenhaal is Jewish, I believe, and she voted for the worst, most vile and virulent anti-Semite head of state in 70 years.
And she is not the only one, not by a long shot.

    Shell Says:

@offtheproperty: Crazy racist…you don’t even make sense. How could he be a dictator if he won the elections…TWICE!? Anyway…there will be a new election soon enough and he won’t be eligible so I don’t understand why you’re so worked up. You vote for who you want then. Idiot.

I think shoes the same color as the dresses would really make the outfits come alive. If they are looking for money their tourism value would be through the roof if the parties got together and added color to the tourism industry. It’s a win win as younger people are not introduced to money as a form of weapon, only more like a commodity/perishable token of our society’s acceptance up for bargaining.
