Maggie Gyllenhaal Gets Political: I'm Not Sure What President Obama Believes in Anymore
Maggie Gyllenhaal arrives to the Good Morning America studios to promote her new show The Honorable Woman on Thursday morning (July 31) in New York City.
The 36-year-old actress, who met up with Julia Louis-Dreyfus at the studios and took a selfie, visited the Daily Show the day before in an orange dress to promote her show.
During an interview with Time magazine, Maggie got political and discussed President Obama and the Israel-Palestine conflict.
“I really believed in him and I’m not sure what he believes in any more,” Maggie said about President Obama. “I still root for him. But I feel a little hopeless right now….I hope for a leader who will stand up and be unpopular.”
“You know, you say one word on one side or the other, and you alienate hundreds of thousands of people,” Maggie said about Israel and Palestine. Watch below.
The Honorable Woman premieres tonight on SundanceTV.
