Naomi Watts Discusses Looking in the Mirror & Thinking She Needs Plastic Surgery

Naomi Watts go for high fashion on the cover of Town & Country magazine’s September 2014 issue, on newsstands August 12.

Here’s what the 45-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On the pressure to get plastic surgery: “I’m really just feeling my way. This being an industry town, that self-consciousness just pervades. There are days when I feel victorious that I have, you know, gotten this far [without plastic surgery]. But there are a million days when I look in the mirror and think, ‘I’m going to do it.’”

On accepting a role in Divergent: “I’d rather be a character actress and have longevity – as much of it as I can – than kid myself into believing I’m always going to be a leading lady, you know?”

On hating auditions: “I’m an anxious person, and I hate being put in a position where I’m being tested. If I feel safe, I can be me, but if I don’t feel safe, I try to please.”

FYI: Naomi is wearing a Rochas dress on the cover.

I hope she resists any pressure to have face altering surgery. She’s a beautiful women and fine actress. Do we really need another 40 or 50 something with a frozen face trying to look 25? It doesn’t work. Most women of a certain age who get roles have natural faces that are capable of subtle expression.

  • NickyNono

Good thing she can look at her long time friend Nicole Kidman to see exactly what she SHOULDN’T do. I hope more actresses allow themselves to continue aging gracefully. You know, like Helen Mirren, Susan Sarandon, Judi Dench, Meryl Streep etc etc. These ladies get the most interesting parts anyway. Maybe some of them have done laser treatments or other less invasive treatments, I think that’s fine if it looks natural. Stay away from botox and fillers, that’s my advice! No more ageless puffy faced alien monster actresses…

It must be tough. There is so much pressure on women. Look at all the actresses in their 20s and 30s who have already had multiple cosmetics surgery, fillers and botox.

  • Pants on fire!

Oh, please! I hate when actresses lie about having work done. Of course she had plastic surgery. She has breast implants. She may not have had a facelift, but she had lip injections FOR SURE, and botox! That’s plastic surgery, you know Naomi???
I like her as an actress, but I can’t stand how she lies so easily about the obvious.
