Emma Stone is currently in negotiations to join the cast of the musical Cabaret on Broadway, a rep for the show confirms to!

“I can confirm that Emma Stone is in negotiations to make her Broadway debut as ‘Sally Bowles’ in Cabaret on Broadway at Roundabout Theatre Company,” the rep said in a statement.

Emma was previously in negotiations to originate the role in the revival alongside Alan Cumming, but she had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. The role ended up going to Michelle Williams, who will play her final performance on November 9.

If Emma joins the cast, it will only be for a two month run unless the show extends. It is currently scheduled to close on January 4, 2015.

It’s always so nice when Broadway let actors who have never been on Broadway before get a lead in a show…especially when their singing is up to par with trained theatre professionals. Pop singers as well. Not. Yeah, you can “ooh and ahh” in a studio where they’re mixing your levels, but no one wants to spend $$$ to hear you ruin a beloved show with your struggling and cracking (I’m talking to you Carly Rae Jepsen). If they want the actors to do the movie versions, that’s one thing…they’re in the studio recording, but stop letting them take to the stage. There are people who spend their days waiting tables while they struggle to live in NYC and hopefully one day score a role on Broadway…and they’ve been training their whole life and are extremely talented but theater is cutthroat. Then you have a “a-list actor” or pop singer who is thinking “ooh maybe I’ll go to Broadway” and boom..they’re there. I mean, Emma has calluses on her vocal cords. Why bother?

Her PR never stops !! please -_- we are tired of her already she’s not relevant anymore deal with it that’s simply because people know that she’s not enough talented her only good role was on easy a where she only had to act goofy and sassy, and now she’s sucking Woody Allen poor girl too bad Magic in the moonlight bombed and critics didn’t like it.
and this girl can’t sing how is she suppose to be on broadway ? LAME

  • Taylor

@fairly: Why Seyfried fans don’t like Emma Stone? You are delusional.

  • Taylor

@P: LOL. Not everyone is obligated to like her work as an actress, dear. Get a life, she doesn’t even know you exists.

  • Rory

This girl seems to belong only to romantic comedies.

  • Jenna

@P: How do you get jealousy out of being annoyed? I don’t want what she has, I’m sick and tired of her and actors/singers like her getting a freebie to do something that people spend their whole lives trying to get a shot at. I have no interest in being on Broadway, but I know people who could perform circles around Emma and won’t have a shot at the lead in Cabaret. That’s not jealousy, that’s being p*ssed off. Learn the difference.

  • umi

Oh I’d like to see her everywhere! She’s so fun and adorable!!

  • David sucks

@David: Here you are david! Again! Gosh please leave her alone! Don’t like her, just ignore but stop being an idiot
