ABC News Apologizes for Live Stream of Robin Williams' Home
ABC News has issued an apology after the network used a live stream video of Robin Williams‘ home during its coverage of his death on Monday (August 11).
The network used graphics to show that it “live aerials” of the late actor’s home and angry viewers took to social media to show their disgust after the Williams family asked for privacy.
“When we realized there was no news value to the live stream, we took it down immediately,” the network unit said in a statement (via Variety). “Our intention was not to be insensitive to his family, friends and fans, and for that we apologize.”
