The news that Lauren Bacall has passed away has Hollywood in mourning for the second time this week.

The 89-year-old legendary actress died after suffering a massive stroke on Tuesday (August 12) and her late husband Humphrey Bogart‘s estate confirmed the news.

“With deep sorrow, yet with great gratitude for her amazing life, we confirm the passing of Lauren Bacall,” his estate tweeted. The two actors starred in many films together and were married for 11 years until his death.

Lauren received an Academy Award nomination for her work in 1996′s The Mirror Has Two Faces and she was the recipient of an honorary Oscar in 2009.
