Sony Altering Seth Rogen & James Franco's 'The Interview' After Sparking North Korean Controversy

Sony is reportedly altering parts of The Interview to try and keep the peace after North Korea asserted that releasing it would be an “act of war.”

The studio is digitally altering thousands of buttons worn by characters in the movie – the buttons depict actual hardware worn by the country’s military used to honor leaders Kim Jong Un and his father, former leader Kim Jong Il. Putting the buttons in the movie is considered offensive to the country, THR reports.

The Interview, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, will now be released on December 25, after being pushed back from its original October release date.

The film is about “TV journalists recruited by the CIA to assassinate the North Korean despot.”
