The band’s lead guitarist Brian May recently opened up about Adam joining them on tour.

“[Adam has] woken us up, and just in time,” Brian told The Pulse Of Radio. “There’s a big call to do more shows now. So, there’s a good possibility that we will do more shows. I think, beyond that, we’ll just see.”

People I know who’ve seen the show feel differently Brian. Posing does not give a singer heart. He’s no heart-truth for the songs like Freddy did. Not comparing, just saying.

  • He does fine

He performs the material well enough. Nobody can replace Freddie Mercury and the true heart and passion that he brought to the music they wrote and performed together. But Adam has a very good, very strong voice, and he belts out the songs with gusto and can hit the notes that Freddie could, while putting his own spin on things. He is doing the best he can to pay tribute to the man, the band, and to perform for the fans with heart and feeling and flair, and I’m excited to see what his own new material with the band will yield.

I saw show in Detroit with two brothers who are diehard Queen purists and reluctantly went with me. All they could talk about after was that it was the best concert they had EVER seen! They were floored by Adam Lambert. (I knew they would be) Best time ever.

To all of you who insult Adam Lambert… you insult Queen as well.
He is the most amazing thing to happen to Queen since Freddie Mercury..
Nobody can replace Mercury… but the truth is.. Adam is every bit as brilliant and he’s perfect for Queen. To the idiots who complain and can’t even spell Freddie’s name right. well… you prove what clueless fools you are. EVERYONE that has gone to this Tour .. adores Adam. and NOBODY adores him more than Brian May, and Roger Taylor.. The Shows are all completely sold out and that’s due to a large part of Adam being the lead singer. Adam has plenty of heart and emotion.. you are just so blind and deaf and can’t face the fact that Mercury is no longer around. it’s pathetic.
YOU NAME ONE OTHER SINGER ANYWHERE WHO CAN SING LIKE ADAM LAMBERT. NAME ONE……and not some bloody imitator from England bcs that is NOT what Queen wants.. They wanted someone who was amazing just by being himself. and therefore you have the incredible , beautiful and ever charming Adam Lambert. So to all the nay-sayers and haters out there……Eat Adam’s dust…

is that Arabic written on his sweater?

I went to the MSG & IZOD shows and they were the best concerts I have ever been too! Pure showmanship and incredible vocals \m/

Comment about nobody being able to replace Adam Lambert, true! Queen would have laid down n died on Freddie’s grave and never brought their music to this generation if not for Adam. Rejoice. Brian May has been around for a long time n knows a thing or two about talent!

I attended two Queen + Adam Lambert concerts in Toronto & Montreal. In Toronto I went with my brother & his friend who are die hard Queen fans from back in the day. They weren’t expecting much but both were blown away by Adam’s performance and beyond thrilled to finally see Brian & Roger live. In Montreal I attended with my cousin who didn’t even know who Adam Lambert was and was only familiar with a few of Queen’s iconic songs. After the first few songs she was so into it that she was practically bouncing off the walls. I had almost as much fun watching her as I did watching the show. She is now a self professed Glambert! Personally, I thought both shows were incredible. My only regret was that I couldn’t attend a few more. IMO, Adam NAILED the vocals.

I read comments that put Adam down for not having the passion or stage presence of Freddie.Well of course he doesn’t he didn’t write the songs. The times are not the same today as they were then when Freddie was alive.Adam has not lived Freddie’s life.Freddie had much trouble coming to terms with his homosexuality and when l watch him singing his songs you can feel that. Adam on the other hand is totally honest and happy and comfortable with his homosexuality. He is himself. When l watch Adam sing the Queen songs l feel total confidence coming through. That’s a very powerful thing to watch. Add to that his truly indescribable voice and incredible good looks it really is absolutely astonishing. l also went to to shows and l’m so glad l did. The first one was mind boggling , a lot to process. The second was to absolutely savour and commit to memmory,

why do all the adam haters say he’s not Freddie?? adam never wanted to be Freddie and adam will never be Freddie! adam is adam and that’s exactly why brian and roger have him fronting their band! to all those who put adam down, get yourselves a ticket and see and hear this man perform. he is absolutely AMAZING!!! the chemistry is there. you should be, too. ’nuff said

I am throughly opposed to clothing covering Adam’s crotch. Just sayin.

I saw the show in Calgary and it was a magnificent night. Not only has Adam woken them up he has given Queen and their music new life. When Brian introduced the “new boy” to the audience he said: “seriously one of the best rock voices in the world” and we responded with thunderous applause. As “Boo” stated above Brian has been in the music business for quite some time and knows talent when he sees it. Adam has no intention of “being Freddie”. He is a powerful, polished and charismatic performer who can sing LIVE like no other and Queen’s music is big, not pop fluff. There were a few sentimental references to Freddie via the giant “Q” screen behind Roger but we didn’t mourn him. We sang and cheered until we lost our voices. I grew up with 70s and 80s rock so I’ve seen a few rock concerts and this was one of the best because it was LIVE singing backed up by extremely talented musicians who obviously enjoy their “job”. The fans have spoken…..24 sold out North American shows!! I could have seen this show a second time. It was that good! I hope they tour Europe and South America after their visit to Australia and New Zealand (where I understand second shows have been added due to the demand for tickets) Go Adam and long live Queen!

@Canadiann: Canadians gave them a great welcome didn’t we?? I saw the Calgary show but watched a couple of the videos of the Montreal show and was so delighted to see Brian wearing a Montreal hockey jersey for the encore.

ASTONISHING~SPECTACULAR~PHENOMENAL~EXTRAORDINARY~MIND BLOWING. .There are not enough words to describe the Magic happening in every SOLD OUT ARENA during Queen and Adams tour! Adam Lamberts Vocals are second to no one & he should be put on a Pedistal!

  • Mandy

@Lol: Did you actually attend a show? If not, how can you even comment? No, videos do NOT do the show justice. There’s a reason why out of over 100 reviews in the media, there have only been 5 negative reviews.
