'Jurassic Park' Actor Richard Attenborough Dies at Age 90

Longtime British actor and director Richard Attenborough sadly passed away at the age of 90 on Sunday (August 24), BBC News reports.

Though he was best known for his Oscar-worthy directing on the 1982 film Gandhi and for his role as park creator John Hammond in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, his career spanned more than six decades.

British Prime Minister David Cameron remembered him on Twitter, writing, “His acting in Brighton Rock was brilliant, his directing of Gandhi was stunning – Richard Attenborough was one of the greats of cinema.”

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
