Zoe Kravitz: I Can't Imagine My Life Without Music

Zoe Kravitz leans down to sing into the crowd while performing with her band LolaWolf at the 2014 AfroPunk Festival held at Commodore Barry Park on Sunday (August 24) in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The 25-year-old actress/singer recently opened up about the importance of music in her life.

“It’s a really big part of my life. Obviously, my dad’s a musician, but my mom also loves music,” Zoe told Refinery29. “It’s just an important thing in our family. There’s music being played in the house all the time. It’s always been very present in my life, and I couldn’t imagine living my life without music. It’s a huge, huge part of my connection with other people. I’ve always wanted to do music. It just makes me happy. In the past year, it’s sort of taken off in a really cool way. So, I’m really thankful to be able to do it semi-professionally and just for fun. But, you know, I love that people that listen to it. It’s an unexpected perk.”

Earlier in the week, Zoe was spotted hanging out with her model pal Cara Delevingne in New York City.

    Sorry to say this out loud, y’all, but gf is high on either heroin or oxy, she does NOT look well at all. Note the greyish skintone and the eyes…

    @lisa: So obvious.

    @lisa: I agree. I’ve noticed a decline in her with the years. Her talent is also questionable, but I’m more worried about her health.

    @MB: She is not Rihanna she is not on drugs she already said in an interview that her father and mother would kick her behind if she ever get caught up in that lifestyle. You need to get some glasses.

    Well she looks tired…it’s possible to look tired without being on drugs. But who knows…maybe she is, maybe she isn’t. That ring in her nose looks awful…she looks like a cow, they usually have those.

    @Meh:
    Yeah, like guys talk about cosmetically fit a bulls nose ring, but opt out because of hygiene issues.

    Now this Zoe is a lot better looking than that Nig Zoe Saldana.

    @jealous much: Why does it have to be jealousy? Why is that automatically the first accusation people always make when they can’t think of something intelligent to counter? I like both of her parents and I stand by what I said. She looks ill/drugged. Look at her eyes and her skin. She’s a really beautiful girl if you look at her old pictures, but now she seems haggard. At first I thought, perhaps she’s overworked, but she doesn’t work that much. She’s just a sort of there Hollywood girl. Her saying she wouldn’t touch drugs doesn’t mean it’s true. There are such things as lies in this cruel world! Her parents have been known to use drugs as well, who’s to say she hasn’t been around it her whole life? Her crowd is also suspect: Cara “Coke Bag” Delevigne. Look at the other members of her band; they too look drugged-up. Not jealousy, just observations. By the way, I think the word you want is “envy” not “jealousy.” My 2c.

    Zoe’s band shares a producer and bass player with Penn Badgley’s band, which is also the superior band. Why don’t you ever cover it Jared?
