Chris Brown on Talking About His Rihanna Relationship: 'People Will Always Bring Up Negative Stuff'

Chris Brown pulls open his shirt on the cover of Billboard magazine’s latest issue.

Here’s what the 25-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag:

On if people will ever stop talking about him and Rihanna: “When we’re not relevant anymore, that might be the case. As long as you’re doing something good, people will always bring up old stuff or negative stuff because they don’t want you to surpass a certain level or elevate. But as long as you have your head on straight, it shouldn’t matter what people want to say.”

On what he learned in prison: ”My maturity level has risen as far as my realizing what’s important. Realizing that I’m human like everyone else. At the end of the day, it’s just a humbling experience. You’re more appreciative of everything else that’s on the outside. A burger tastes 1,000 times better when you’re out.”

On living life in the public eye: “Not everyone in the world is going to particularly love me. But I’m cool with that. As long as I love myself and my music, I’m fine. People are going to say what they want to say. I don’t look over my shoulder or wish I could turn back the hands of time. Life is a learning experience, so I’m learning as I go. I’m not walking around angry about anything. So you just have to let it be.”

Uh yeah, people tend to be horrified by those who beat the crap out of their girlfriends. And yes, they’ll bring it up and no, that’s not negativity to do so, they’re just relaying facts.

His reputation is cracked beyond repair. No PR will ever save him. Until the die he dies, the average people will only associate him as a Rihanna-beating violent thug.

he’s right… BUT he ruisn it for me cause he has been giving this dumb ass speach for years to the point that I’m dumbed to it and don’t believe him. He’s been “humble” since 2009 in his opinion, but that’s far from the truth.

He should have said “I don’t blame people for thinking ill of me. Who am I to tell someone to look away from the engativity when that’s what I’ve been contributed to publicly for the last 5 years. It’s a blessing in disguise, cause at least they care enough to say ‘Chris, you’re not being your best self right now’ and that motivates me to find that man inside of me that I want to be in the end”

Damn, I’m good. I should be his new publicist ;)

Oh WOW !!! Thank god for all of you perfect self righteous folks here ! .. It’s so great that none of you never , ever made mistakes in your perfect little lives . I’m not a fan of Brown , don’t condone what he did , i will say this pehaps he is trying to look forward and leave the past behind i doubt he will ever forget it but moving forward is the only way to go .. cause technically that’s what the word “PAST” means . If the people he actually hurt are big enough to forgive who are we to say she or they are wrong ? I am sure they know him better than all of you strangers sitting in front of your little computers passing judgements on everyone you don’t know !!!… But hey … life is good , hope yours is as good . you all should thank GOD you have such perfect lives !!

@guest1: Actually, it was a court of law that passed judgement on this creep. He was found guilty of beating a woman. Would you want him near your daughter? Do you want your son to admire him?
