Joan Rivers' Autopsy Complete, Clear Cause of Death Not Found

Joan Rivers‘ autopsy has been completed just one day after her tragic death, TMZ reports, but a cause of death could not be found.

The medical examiners could not find a “cause and manner of death” and will need to do further studies, which will include a toxicology test, as well as interviewing the doctors who were present when her initial throat procedure was conducted before her cardiac episode.

Joan, 81, suddenly rushed to the hospital last week after when she suddenly stopped breathing during a procedure last week on her throat and reportedly went into cardiac arrest.

Joan was placed on life support in the hospital in New York City where she was surrounded by friends and family before her death.

Our thoughts go out to Joan‘s family and friends during this time.

    accuse her plastic surgeons, folks!!

    Has the medical society – Doctors – not learned anything from Michael Jackson’s death? Why in the world would they use that same drug on Joan during this procedure & NOT at least be in the hospital while doing this procedure using that drug?

    My sympathy to Melissa, her son & family – so sad.

  • winter

    Really? start with her age lol

  • tick

    I heard the hospital where Joan stayed was receiving death threats. I wanted to send them a thank you card. That woman was a mean annoying racist. Good riddance. The fact that so many Americans liked her sense of “humor” is another indication that the end of the world is near. That, along with those depraved Armenian reality stars. Robin Williams was a comedian. Joan Rivers was just a nasty old b*tch.

    No clear cause means the anesthetist should be charged with manslaughter (or woman slaughter in this case).

  • willy billy

    Agreed. General anesthesia should be administered only in hospitals with emergency medicine departments.

    @truth:

    My understanding is that propofol was used at the hospital for the drug induced coma…not at the surgery center.

  • Holy roller

    Get a grip on yourself. The woman did a lot for charity and helped to feed The homeless. As Joan would say; “screw you if you can’t take a joke”

  • Vicky V.

    Cause of death? The woman was elderly. She lived a normal human life span. End of story. And I LOVED her.. but nobody lives forever, even if we like them.

  • Anilec

    The VAGUS NERVE runs very close to the vocal cords, if stimulated it can cause a heart attack. And that’s probably what happened. Joan Rivers seemed to be in good health. And the reason I know that is that she lived a very active life. She was a stand up comedian amongst other things. A vagus nerve stimulation can cause a heart attack at any age. She didn’t die of old age, let’s make that clear. Her surgeon. most likely was at fault.

    @tick:

    Tick you are right!, Robin Williams was a comedian, and Joan was a nasty racist B…. some people are saying she was a feminist, but she wasn’t she was nasty and critical with women, and she kissed up to man. She was incredibly racist, too racist for a Jew.

  • Betty

    @Holy roller:

    It didn’t give her the right to insult on other races, nor young women.
    She could have focused her routines entirely on herself. She was a
    little short stout woman with a Halloween face. Or perhaps could focus on hemorrhoid stricken middle aged men.

  • Holy roller

    @Betty; pull the stick out of you butt already.

  • Holy roller

    All of you saying horrible things about this woman says more about your miserable take on life.

  • Holy roller

    In nursing school there was a little saying about the Vagus nerve: the Vagus nerve runs from your eyeball to your asshole and gives you a shitty outlook on life-

  • Leathrglvd

    @willy billy:

    BINGO!

  • Emerald

    Betty,

    A little thin skinned aren’t you? Wait, you actually thought at Joan was attacking you PERSONALLY.

  • :)

    Joan ruled and the fact that retards like the landwhale jigaboo JP fans hated her was the icing on the cake.

  • Goaway

    Her comments were taken out of context. She apologized for that. You hate her. That’s racist. Look in the mirror. Her surgeon is at fault. Bad decision to perform any unnecessary surgery on an 81 year old.

  • George

    I’m with Betty, Joan was a real B!tch and she is probably in hell right know.

  • Betty.

    @Emerald:

    What I think is none of your business B!TCH….LOL

  • george.

    @Holy roller:
    You? in nursing school, you sound way too ignorant and vulgar to be a nurse.

  • Betty.

    @Holy roller:

    …and you put the vibrator out of your
    B U T T H O L E.

  • @GEORGE

    Hahahahahaha . Where have you been all your life; under anesthesia?

  • @Betty

    Oh! Are you butt hurt. Have your dog kiss your ass and face as I truly dought there is a difference….BAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • BETTY.

    @@Betty:

    NO, BUT I’VE SEEN YOUR DOG’S D!CK IN YOUR MOUTH.
    AND YOU ARE A PAID BLOGGER.

  • @Betty

    Watch those caps Betty Boop; it’s a sign of high blood pressure and “I have no sense of humor” -itis

  • Emerald

    Betty

    if anyone is a BITCH it is YOU!! The reality Betty is that YOU are the one who is a little stout woman with a Halloween face. Projecting your physical shortcomings on to Joan is not fair is it.

  • @EMERALD

    @Emerald:

    SHE WAS DESCRIBING JOAN BUT SHE WAS ALSO DESCRIBING YOU :D

  • Stupid posters

    You posters here are morons. She was 81. If you know anyone over the age of 65, you know they just say all kinds of outrageous things. The older the get the more incoherent. They are fu/ck/ing OLD, ok? And it’s going to happen to every single one of you.

    No one under 30 remembers the real Joan. She was hilarious and awesomely witty and sharp. It’s sad to watch people slowly deteriorate but I am convinced it’s planned that way to ease the transition back to the spirit world. Shut up unless you understand the 90′s because she was the best thing on E! and lots of other stuff.

  • Stupid posters

    And BTW, why is it okay for doctors to murder people now?

    I understand people are wanting to pay tribute to Joan but what surprises me is that nobody seems to be angry. Everyone just seems to think because of her age her death is more acceptable. I have noticed it’s difficult to even find any news coverage about Joan and can see the media have already forgotten her. This is so sad. Personally I see this as a great tradgedy. The world really needed Joan now more than ever in these claustrophobic politically correct times. I feel Joan was just beginning, and had so much more to accomplish. Age simply was not a barrier to Joan. I remember recently on a FP episode where Joan spontaneously kicked her shoe off and caught it, executing the manoeuvre flawlessly with perfect timing of the joke. Their is no reason why Joan could not have lived a healthy and happy life for many many more years to come. She had more energy than most people half her age. I feel she left too soon, just at the height of her career. I just looked at Joan’s twitter and can only now appreciate just how amazing she was, always up to date with the latest social and celebrity trends, even travelling to italy only a few months ago for grandma week. She was so active and full of life. What is sad about this is how Joan had just released a book recently and finished a stand up routine the night before where she was testing out new material and evolving her comedic style. FP was the highlight of my week and I used to look forward to Joan’s jokes on FP every week, she was the only comedian who could ever make me genuinely laugh. I don’t know how I am going to cope without my weekly Joan fix on FP. It’s hard to imagine a world without Joan. I mean what do we have to look forward to now? All the other celebrities are boring and pale in comparison to Joan. Joan you will be missed.
