“As an actor, you play a small piece of the puzzle. As a director, you are part of every decision from beginning to end. If someone doesn’t like the movie, that’s on you. That’s intimidating,” Chris shared to Variety.

i don’t care whether movie works at the box office or not he’ll always remains my favourite.I’ll always support my Favourite Actor

  • Zorror

He looks So Good in Facial Hair.

  • Lydia

Did he talk about how he ripped off Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise?

  • Bella

He’s getting old really fast. What a damn shame. He seems so passionate about directing but his first film sounds boring and unoriginal (…and casting Alice Eve, really?). Richard Linklater did it 20 years ago. You can’t follow that with something guaranteed to no live up. What was he thinking? I hope he’ll put more thought, boldness and creativity into his next project.

  • london

he is soo cute. And loved his ALS video.

  • sorry not sorry

@Lydia: @Bella: Mte! Looks like a third rate dull Before Sunrise rip off….
….Is he also going to make sequels titled “Before We Arrive” and “Before We Leave Again”? Yeah, two strangers wandering around a city and falling in love has never been done before in indie cinema. Ever. Especially not by any brilliant filmmaker named Linklater. Chris Evans so desperately wants to get away from being “the Marvel hunk” and then chooses to do this cheesy nonsense. Beautiful, dumb man. I can already see reviewers ripping it apart and then him giving sad soundbites about not being taken seriously as a director either.
Although this mess looks terrible I’ll still watch it, at home, for the beard and eye candy alone because I have no shame.

  • ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

duh. people won’t like the movie, dorito.
brace yourself sweet meatball, hate is coming your way.

  • YeahWrite

Whoa. Ease up – it’s his first outing as a Director. He’s only
33 for goodness sakes: don’t write him off yet.
There are hundreds of movies about war, baseball and
Westerns; and hundreds more will be made still. Who cares if
it’s not a completely original idea. He picked something he was
interested in, passionate about, and kept it simple. And from his interviews, it sounds like he checked his ego at the door and was willing to learn from more experienced people around him. Pretty wise I’d
say for his first time in the Diectors chair. I love the idea of a dialogue based movie, so I can’t wait to see it. I am sure there is still a long and great career ahead for Mr Evans.

  • YouMad?

@YeahWrite: I’m not so sure. Whole movie seems like a freshman first film school project by a kid who just watched before sunrise, like crazy and 500 days of summer. – Also, lol, Alice Eve. Come on. – How are we supposed to take him seriously? I’ll be rolling my eyes so hard watching this that they’ll get stuck in the back of my head!
I hope this flops hardcore so that he goes back to acting full time. It worked with Ryan Gosling and JGL. It’s gonna be just as bad as Zach Braff’s latest film. It’s probably why he can’t find any distribution. Critics will either make a bloodbath out of this or not care. I love this guy but let’s be real here — he’s no Ben Affleck in the making.

I’d love to meet you in person someday, Chris Evans! You are a brave, handsome, intelligent, strong, sweet, talented, and wonderful man; inside and outside; and I love you so very much.

However, due to the fact that I have fibroids in my stomach and a benign fatty tumor (lipoma) on my back, I know in my heart that I missed my chances of meeting you. I wouldn’t blame you if you never wanted to see me in person, because once you do, you’ll see how completely ugly I am; inside and outside. I’m only in my forties, and I’m very scared as what will happen to me.

Chris Evans, if you want to write to me, here is my name and address:

@YouMad? : granted, that could be true. It could totally bomb. And I cannot comment on Eve because I am not familiar with her work. I just meant: don’t think he intended to do “Ghandi” on his outing – ya know?

It will probably be chalked up to a learning experience — but I don’t think it can be that bad if is being featured at TIFF. THEY have seen it already afterall.

Basically, certainly Evans will survive just fine either way. There’s more than enough thirsty fans to keep him working a long time. HA!
