Chicago Fire's Molly Glynn Dead - Actress Dies at 46 After Being Hit By a Falling Tree

Molly Glynn, a well-respected Chicago theater actress and Chicago Fire star, passed away on Saturday (September 6) after being struck and killed by a falling tree while riding her bike.

The 46-year-old actress was riding with her husband Joe Foust in Chicago’s Erickson Woods when they were caught in a storm. Joe heard Molly shout they should take cover when a tree was uprooted, Us Weekly reports. Molly, who was wearing a bike helmet, was taken to Evanston NorthShore Hospital where she passed away.

“I couldn’t save her. I couldn’t save her. She’s gone,” Joe posted on his Facebook account after she passed.

Molly was a marvelous actress and a completely warm hearted and generous human being. She had grace, sophistication and a sparkling, sexy, sassy stage presence,” Michael Halberstam, the artistic director at Chicago’s Writers Theatre told CBS. “She could transform from a princess to a flower girl in the twinkling of an eye. She was a loving mother and wife and everyone who met her fell in love with her.”

We are sending our thoughts to Joe, as well as Molly‘s friends and loved ones during this time.
