Ray Rice Break Silence After Elevator Video Surfaces

Ray Rice is speaking out for the first time since video surfaced of him beating his then-fiancee Janay Palmer in a hotel elevator.

“I have to be strong with my wife. She is so strong. We are in good spirits. We have a lot of people praying for us and we’ll continue to support each other. I have to be there for (Janay) and my family right now and work through this,” the 27-year-old former Baltimore Ravens player told ESPN.

Janay also talked to the network, saying “I love my husband. I support him. I want people to respect our privacy in this family matter.”

Make sure to read the statement that Janay released on Instagram today to defend her husband from the media.

  • rio

yeah pray and keep praying im sure that fix about everything.. morons

  • Paul

Wife beater. Send him to jail!

  • Diedre

Both this @sshole and his stupid wife are low class pieces of sh!t. The Ravens were right to fire him.
If he’s bent on beating his wife and she’s committed to sticking around for the money even though she’s getting her @ss kicked regularly, fine.
He doesn’t need to be a professional athlete making tons of money though.

  • She should divorce him and take his money. Now is her chance before he ends up killing her with his fists.

    @rio:
+1 Apparently praying is always the answer…

@ rio ..shut up Ignorant f–k , she began dating Ray Rice at 16, years before he was drafted to the NFL, she wasn’t it for the money, she probably so under his control she thinks getting a roundhouse punch, knocked out & dragged around like garbage is her fault.

Reading both their stamens both of them need serious help …… ah it was some tragedy that happened to your family.. didn’t know beating your wife was ” something to pray” about.

U people are full of it…you are all outraged at this guy u dont know and his wife yet you are not directing your rage at the Carolina Panthers for having HArdy on the field who was convicted of domestic violence in july 2014, ray mcdonald of the 49er for hitting his pregnant fiancee and quincy enumwa of the jets for hitting his girlfriend. My point is if u r so disgusted and you want to hold ray to such a high standard we as fans of the nfl should demand that the panthers, 49ers and jets fire their players too.

The ignorance demonstrated through these comments is the reason why domestic violence is still such a taboo subject. Disgusting.

An abused woman will very often stay in her domestic situation; her low self-esteem assures her that any abuse she suffers is “because of something she did.” There are anonymous women’s shelters in every city and they do not release any information about their residents. They provide counseling and child care. Janay needs to take their daughter and get out of her house. Her situation, as it is now, can only get worse. She would benefit by counseling and being mentored by peaceful people. He needs to get anger management counseling and stay away from her.

I feel for his wife a little bit. I’m sure she will suffer his wrath for him getting fired and that she is saying these things only because of fear and to make him happy.. I have no sympathies for him. I just hope that he doesn’t kill her this time. Just think he could’ve continued to have his lucrative career if he had kept his hands to himself.

Were they praying for you when you beat your wife unconscious and dragged her across the floor? Feel like this isn’t the first time…
