Ray Rice's Wife Janay Blames the Media for 'Horrible Nightmare'

Ray Rice‘s wife Janay has taken to her Instagram account to blast the media for making her relive one of the darkest moments of her life, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Video surfaced this week of Ray beating Janay in a hotel elevator earlier in the year. He has now been cut from the Baltimore Ravens roster after the video was seen by his team.

“I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I’m mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it’s reality is a nightmare in itself,” Janay said. “No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass of for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific.”

“THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don’t you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you’ve succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!” Janay concluded.

Does she have Stockholm syndrome, Is she stupid or both?

  • Bianca

She is a poor excuse of a woman for staying with a man who would dare do that to a woman. She should feel embarrassed and rethink her priorities. Now that he may lost his NFL career, we will see how long she stays with him. I don’t feel sorry for her, she has no self respect, dignity, and needs mental help.

  • True

She is tragic if she tolerates this. Let’s see how long she hangs around without his NFL salary and lifestyle….

  • Ilene

Hope it is not worse the next time he beats her up.

  • Mary

Her comments make me sad. It is her life, but her comments may make battered women that such behavior is acceptable. The way Ray Rice stood over her body, failed to see if she was all right, and dragged her carelessly out of the elevator suggests to me that he has done this plenty of times before.

I hope that people stop bashing her – to be a battered woman is devastating and takes away self-confidence. She doesn’t need judgment; she needs support. Educate yourself before judging her, please.

  • Amy

    @Mary:

She needs to be in therapy, imo.

  • lr

Some people will do or tolerate anything for $$$.

  • Chrissy

    @Mary
I agree with your comment. She’s a textbook case of a battered women.
She was probably made to feel responsible for her abuser’s downfall, not only be the fans, but also by the man himself. She even looks like she’s cowering in the picture. Hopefully someone close to her sees what is happening and convinces her to get away from this a**hole!
My heart goes out to her.

  • Amber

Won’t be surprised if he ends up killing her…he has to be angrier than ever now and needs a scapegoat…the way he dropped her face down was sickening..and she calls it “love”…bet hers lasts as long as it takes for somebody to offer her a book deal

“No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family”
First off, learn how to speak properly. I’m pretty sure the intended word was ‘opinion’ not ‘option’.
Secondly, this stupid b!tch needs to shut the phuque up. She’s willing to take the beatings as long as the cash is rolling in, I suppose.
She’s blame the media and the public for their trashy situation rather than taking any responsibility. She could be a powerful spokesperson against domestic violence, but chooses to stand by her abuser instead.
    Typical trash.

  • Bianca

@Mary: Wow, just wow, she attacked him as well and was yelling obscenities to him, they obviously have that type of relationship, she spit in this face and hit him before he knocked her out. A man should never hit a woman, walk away, but the same goes for us women, they obviously have no respect for each other.

  • who me?

She better get off her a/ss and do something quick. They have a daughter together and the mother needs to think of her.Does she want her daughter thinking daddy punching you in the face is ok?Forget the money and the life style. It’s better to live with average income or even be poor and have your dignity, self respect and safety valued above anything else.

  • forrest gump

who needs to be a well known personality anyway?

  • allison

This is why the police and prosecutor should have arrested/press charges and protected her because she does not have the ability to do it on her own.

  • kim

she has to defend him or else he’ll kill her. her defense of him is expected. too bad.

  • kelly

She smacked him on the way to the elevator, she’s just as stupid for hitting someone as he is. Now it’s the media’s fault? Gold digger is just worried about her pay day.

  • Nicole

That was a reaction from him spitting on her.

    @kelly:

  • Josie

    This is very, very sad.

  • Lydia

Hard to feel sympathy for this obvious golddigger. Enjoy poverty, sis.

  • claudia

Women like her and Rihanna really should be banned from every kind of public display of opinion.

  • essie

All I can say is, if the daughter grows up and dates a man who beats her, to even knocking her out cold, will her parents support that. If they also turn a blind eye to it, just shows how domestic violence cycles and has no end.

  • hmmm

Still wonder why charges were not filed against Solange Noles. Women can be abusive too. But the punishment and the public outrage is never the same.
    .
    Double Standard

  • Alaric

she is kind of right. the media keeps replaying it over and over again which only makes it worse. if she stays with him, she’s an idiot but it doesn’t help when everyone on espn and all over the news is talking about it.

  • LaCroix

Delusional .. nothing more to say & wouldn’t waste one more moment feeling any type of sympathy for her.

  • porkpies

wow she can’t be that stupid can she ? how can you still love someone who just beat the pumpkin out of you ? no self respect or self worth .

  • Ava

@allsion… He was charged when this happen with third degree assault ..police have had this tape from the first, NFL lying about not knowing he hit her That’s why there was so much outrage when he was suspended only for 2 games even though he was charged when drinking and driving gets 6 game suspended . And no where in the video does she hit , spit or any of the other lame azz excuses people post to blame the victim for her own assault. .

  • ish

i bet ray is blaming her everyday for this and i feel terrible for her cause she’s putting way too much blame on herself and doesn’t realize that her husband hurt her ruthlessly, i don’t think she can separate emotions from reality. if they’re going to stick this marriage out, they both need marriage counseling and counseling for her by herself to understand the psychology of abusive relationships. nobody is trying to hurt you or embarrass you janay, the public is telling you that you’re in love with an abusive man that doesn’t know how to treat a woman right when things go wrong, you don’t knock the lights out of her, a woman doesn’t have the strength to do that to a man (to the people that are yelling “double standard”), he could’ve restrained her but his behavior was out of line and he didn’t care for her at all when she was unconscious which speaks volumes of how he is as a person. i hope she hasn’t gotten abused more since the video has been put out, she needs to be surrounded by positive people but i think her mentality is so messed up at this point that she believes positivity goes hand in hand with having a millionaire for a husband and since he lost his career and future millions because of their confrontation, she’s holding way too much guilt and blaming herself over and over again when she shouldn’t be doing that at all.

  • Jan

She married him a month later!! I can’t believe, he could’ve killed! This asshole dropped her like a rag doll and dragged her out of the elevator without any concern almost serial killer like! Does this not concern her, someone give her face a slap

  • Jan

@ish: Abusive relationship! I bet there have been more incidences like this!!One day it’ll escalate and he’ll kill her! She needs counselling and he needs handcuffs

  • offtheproperty

    I completely agree with her.
I’m not saying hitting women is OK.
    It’s not.
But it’s not the worst thing in the world and it’s definitely not worth the entire career of an obviously pretty good guy who made a mistake.
    She forgives him.
Who are we to tell her she’s wrong.
The NFL is only surpassed in hypocrisy by the bum obama, who took the opportunity to cover up his sympathies for misogynistic islam by taking a swipe at Ray Rice.
    What a fiasco of lies.
Don’t take a great career away from a young guy.

  • Drats

    @Nicole:

    Both.
And she’s mad the gravy train has left the station without them.

  • Like being attacked over again

Try looking at the video she is getting in his face and he pushed her away !, where are the famous Rihanna bruises? Eh? The ones that made headlines around the world! She did not have bruising where HE HIT HER in the face! Like Rihanna did! And where are those photos. Eh? To ruin a mans career that is sooo rude! Let’s have celebrity hosts having sex in a elevator and play that 50 times! It is a private matter between Ray and his wife! Than this should go for every governor and all celebrity men!

  • SPIRIT7

Im sure the metal plate and screws in her head must mess with her thinking. But I love him!!! sigh

  • Oh my

@Like being attacked over again: You are clearly one delusional person, how can you defend this man. I don’t agree with her being on his side, she clearly also needs help, but the fact that the video shows the horrific assault against her, it’s clear as water. What is wrong with you.

As far as her, she is a victim of her poor decision making, and this will only be passed on to her daughter, who will grow up thinking that women deserve to be treated in that manner. Does anyone really think he will stick around with her, knowing she is part of the reason he lost his golden ticket. She needs to get out of that relationship fast, before it turns tragic.

  • Diedre

@offtheproperty: Says the jack@ss who just wants to be able to sit in the comfort of his home and watch all the felonious phuquers play ball.
Who cares that they’re a bunch of ill mannered, self centered thugs? Sports are all that matter.
    You are a complete moron.

  • Whatever

Their both very sick individuals, please get some help. The fact that he did this and she is defending it is very sad, and disturbing.

  • me

She is one sad individual. And he is a piece of garbage.
