Jack Huston Lands Title Role in 'Ben-Hur' Remake

Jack Huston just landed a star-making role as the title character in the upcoming Ben-Hur remake!

The 31-year-old actor is best known for his role as Richard Harrow on the hit HBO series Boardwalk Empire and he was most recently seen on screen in American Hustle.

Jack reportedly was up for the role Ben-Hur’s rival Messala, but director Timur Bekmambetov decided he was better suited for the lead role, according to Deadline. Morgan Freeman is already set to play the role of Ildarin, the man who teaches Ben-Hur how to be a chariot racer.

It was originally reported that Tom Hiddleston was being courted to play Ben-Hur, the role which was played by Charlton Heston in the original 1959 movie.
